No Rock Band 3 next year. Harmonix is focusing on the Beatles game (Holiday 09 release). They'll continue making DLC though.

I think it's good that they won't make RB3 this year, because I think if they wait a year they might be able to really upgrade the game, esp. in the CAR area, and make a bigger improvement over RB2. I'm looking forward to this Beatles game, but it's too bad that it won't be a "Rock Band" game, only that it will allow you to use the instruments.

Activision got really screwed there. They can't even use Beatles songs on any of their games because of Harmonix's deal.

I don't feel sorry for Activision. They have their own Guitar Hero games based on Aerosmith and Metallica, so it's not like they aren't trying to lock up bands for their own games.

If you borrow Rock Band 1 from someone, you can buy a liscense for $5 that will let you download all of RB1's songs into RB2. There's really not much point in buying RB1 at this point though.

Only buy it if you really like Enter Sandman. That is the only master recording you can't import onto your HD.

As far as I know, you also can't import Paranoid and Run To The Hills. Which is too bad, but still not enough to make me buy the full game, just because of those three songs.

Those are done by cover bands so it's not as big of a loss.

Just FYI, I'll be adding some of you guys to my friends list. Let's get a Hype band going.

I suppose importing the Rock Band 1 songs would work with a SD card for Wii, right? I mean, I have an SD card already...I just didn't know how the importing thing worked for Wii.

FYI, I'm not good on drums. I can do maybe 70% of the songs on Medium, but that's it.

G/B on Hard is no problem. I can get through most of all of the tiers on Hard with 90%+ and I can get through about 50% of all songs on Expert with 80%+. I haven't had a great deal of time to work on many of the Challenging/Nightmare/Impossible songs on Expert yet, but I made it through Master Exploder on Expert with an 84%. I think I got a 94% on Hard.

I'm sure everyone has noticed this, but there are quite a few songs on some of the lower tiers (Apprentice, Solid) that are just as difficult to play as something higher up.

I don't think so b/c it'd take up a lot of space on the SD card.

Yup. There's no way you'd be able to fit a DVD's worth of songs onto a 2-4 GB SD card, plus whatever other songs you download.

just got rock band 2 with drums, guitar and mic for 93 bucks on ebay....played it at best buy and had to get it....but i suck...but its addicting

Yeah, I'm trying to work on songs indvidually.

I'm struggling on Get Clean on Hard, Guitar.

How do I strum those really fast notes at the end of the Solo after the Bridge?

I wish I know how to strum those really really fast notes; I always screwed them up. :csad:

I've been doing that for a while. It's only useful to me on the really long sections of really quick notes, though. Otherwise I do the down-strumming thing with my thumb.

Seriously, am I the only one who up-strums? I'm starting to feel like a freak here. :csad:

Not only that, I play with lefty flip despite the fact that I'm right-handed. Can't explain it. :csad: x2

Yeah I always up-strum for some reason feels more natural.

Dear god, I'm a natural bassist :(
