Official Rock Band 2 thread

a friend of mine told me to get the Guitar Hero drums/guitars to play Rock Band 2 because it's better???

Is that true????

I'm I able to use Guitar Hero guitars on Rock Band 2

Most people find the GH guitars better. I like them a lot more. The strum bar is less loose, the whammy bar is MUCH better (I find using the RB2's whammy much more difficult than GH's). The one advantage to the RB2 guitar is it is easier to slide your hands on the frets.

I've not used the GHWT drums but I have heard of a lot of people having difficulties with them. Therefore, I'd recommend using the RB2 drums. They seem to have fewer, if any, problems and Harmonix repairs their instruments for free.

The Guitar Hero drums are AWFUL. The Guitar Hero WT guitars are terrible too, with the stupid clicky strum bar, ugh.

The clicking is the only problem with the GH strum bars. If you pay attention to the music, you won't even hear it. The RB strum bars need to be tighter. You're much more prone to accidentally strumming just holding your thumb against the strum bar.

I've only used the Rock Band 1 and Guitar Hero 3 guitars. I prefer the Rock Band one. The GH3 one feels really stiff.

Good DLC released on 3/10, which included Offspring's "The Kids Aren't Alright" and REM's "Losing My Religion". Also Pearl Jam's album Ten will be released later this month on 3/24. A good month for RB owners.

Ten is awesome.

My friends finally got RB2, so we started a band called It's Not Tuesday. My character (the guitarist) is called Sasquatchimus. :)

That's a cool name for a band. The band I created to play offline tour is called Chasing Oblivion. :yay: I do wish that there's a better way to earn money for your characters, though, because I have quite a few (all modeled after my family and friends), and it's hard to get the money to get them expensive guitars and apparels.

Yeah, you rarely ever seem to get that much money from any of the gigs. There are a lot of those quadruple-cash offers, but still...

Y'know what they should release as DLC? A fictional bands pack. Think about it, there's a lot of awesome stuff to be had:

Spinal Tap, Stillwater, The Wonders, The Beets, Dethklok, The Impossibles, Barry Jive and the Uptown Five, Sex Bob-omb, The Lone Rangers... Possibilities are... Well, not endless, but there's a lot of stuff.

You get +1 kudos for mentioning Sex Bob-omb! :word::up:

Anyway, they've had some fictional bands like "Stephen and the Colberts" and Vesuvius from "The Rocker," but I would definitely dig seeing more fictional bands in the game. I would love to play "That Thing You Do." :D

The Beets could be possible since there's other Nickelodeon stuff on RB2.

if we're going with fictional bands, I'd like to see Steel Dragon as well

Also, they're half fake/half real but I'd like to see The Sons Of Butcher...If only for "F**k The S**t"...they'd have to of course use the censored version..."Beep the Beep"

Fictional bands would be cool. Did Josie and the Pussycats ever have any songs besides their theme song? :)

Ookla the Mok should have some songs on Rock Band.

Do you guys like the drum pedal for RB2? I always found it hard to step on it, much less doing it in a song. I wish there's some alternatives out there that are better designed.

There is something called the Destroyer kick pedal you can get. I think it's expensive though. I don't mind it but I rarely play the drums.

The wammy bar on my friends' RB1 guitar broke a while back. I miss it. Now it just hangs there limply. I kind of want to get the RB2 guitar for the all-around improvements it's supposed to have, but it's still pretty expensive.

I don't know how you feel about the Les Paul but you can get them for $20. I got mine at Circuit City before Christmas (pre-liquidation, was on sale). If you like that guitar, then keep an eye out for a sale.

Never heard of it. I haven't really looked at any other guitar controllers.

No problem at all with the drum pedal. My main beef with the RB2 drums is that damn bubble in the red pad.

I don't know what kind of improvements it has on the RB1 guitar, but the RB2 one I have was definitely worth the hefty price. And I do mean hefty; you guys have no idea how expensive games can get here in Brazil.
