I don't ever recall Marvel advertising this book as an example of absolutely ******ed writing. There's a clear distinction between dumb fun and just flat out stupid.

Not so clear, really. The line is in different places for different people.

Dude, chill. I think most of us were EXPECTING to find out just what happened to bruce/hulk after WWH. I mean it kinda just ended abruptly without any closure. Now Loeb's new Hulk series is completely ignoring it??? Thats what most of us were expecting. The action's cool and everything but wtf does the Red Hulk havta do with everything else that been going on in the hulk books the last two years?

Bruce was put in prison after WWH. He was in prison before the red Hulk's rampage broke him out in this series. I think that's the opposite of ignoring...

The book was never about the writing. Why can't you get that through your ****ing head.

Another case where the hate for the book is illogical.

Every comic book is about the writing. If it wasn't, then there wouldn't be any ****ing words in it; it would just be McGuinness drawing things. Even still, despite your constant protestations that Loeb was never going to write anything even remotely decent in this book, I have never seen a piece of advertising where either Marvel or Loeb said Hulk would be ******ed.

If your defense of the book is that it's supposed to be bad, then it's pretty clearly a terrible comic book.

Are you still buying it?

I stopped after #2, but I have to pick up #5 because Thor's in it. I'm dreading it, but no matter what happens, I have to see it for myself. :(

I hate that I'm such a slave to Thor. Or, at least, I'm mildly displeased by it sometimes.

I just wanna see how far Loeb has sunk if he has Red Hulk kick Thor's ass.

Nope, I dropped it after the second issue (it was the "A-bomb" that did me in). But I still like to keep tabs on what's going on.

Gotta love how they made Rick a monster just to take his name off the list of suspects, with absolutely no explanation or follow-up. :whatever:

That's not true actually but whatever.

Since day one when this book was announced, Loeb in almost every one of his interviews said this book was just an excuse for Ed to run wild and draw big badass fights. As far as I'm concerned, he has delivered on that. I mean, nobody gives a **** about the mystery of who red Hulk is, they just want to see him throw down with Green hulk, Thor, Iron Man, The Eternals, The Watcher whoever. That's pretty much the premise of the book. It's exactly like a Michael Bay movie, you don't go to a Michael Bay movie for the interesting plot and intricate dialogue. Jesus, you're a ****ing dense *******. Really.

And again, the book isn't bad, it's just not what you want the book to be. It's like someone saying that Daredevil is bad because they want to see DD fight Stilt-Man and all they're getting is a pretty deep character piece with great dialogue and pacing. The book is not for you clearly, so I really don understand why you want to "keep tabs on it" if you hate it so ****ing much. How about wasting your time *****ing about books you actually do read.

All the speculation in this very thread would suggest otherwise.

Fine, they do give a ****, but they give secondary **** as to who it is. They're worried first and foremost on whether Red Hulk is going to **** up Thor or not.:o

That's true for me at least. I could give a rats left butt cheek who Red Hulk really is.

I mean, you guys see me defending the book pretty intently here, but it's not even in my personal top 10. It's just a fun, turn your brain off type book. It's fun! You guys remember fun right?! I don't feel a need to critique the dialogue or the pacing, I'm getting a kick out of seeing the Hulks throw down and punch out Uatu. It's fun!

Fun's overrated. Everything has to be dark and full of realism. :)
