Official Rulk Thread

I loved Superman/Batman all the way until after about issue 26.

I loved how Hawkman and Capt Marvel kicked Superman and Batman.

Superman/Batman...

Was that the book whose first arc was about Lex Luthor accusing Superman of purposely dropping a giant kryptonite meteor on the Earth simply because Superman and the meteor came from the same planet? And everyone, including most other superheroes, believed him despite the fact that a kryptonite meteor would have a greater chance of killing Superman than any human on Earth?

You guys liked that?

Lex's dumbass motivations aside, it was still waaaay better than anything else he did on that book.

So, not really good but less mediocre than Loeb's other contributions. That's, uh... high praise.

waits for someone to post the pic showing how the hammer cannot be picked up even in a zero gravity (btw zero gravity doesn't exist in space, only a much lower gravity point) envirnment...

Well atleast somebody else in the MU picked up Mjolnir, I dont care how it was done but I always thought it was total BS that more DC charactres could pick up Mjolnir than Marvel characters. I know that stuff is out of continuity but still, HULK is basically out of continuity from what you guys think, you know the "Loeb Effect" or the Loebverse.

Captain America, Eric Masterson, Beta Ray Bill, Odin, and Tiwaz have all picked up Mjolnir. I think only Superman and Wonder Woman have on DC's side.

Okay you got me there, but Odin should be able to pick it up anyway, which means DC's Odin could probably do it too same with a DC Thor. Also Beta Ray Bill and Eric Masterson are "Thors" I dont know who Tiwaz is, but it seems as if he/she is some kind of god or cosmic being. So Captain America is the only one to pick it up in the MU besides Rulk, do you get what I'm saying.

Beta Ray Bill and Eric Masterson are both mere mortals, just like Captain America was. The only reason they're "Thors" is because they proved their worth by being able to pick up the hammer.

I think Loki made a similar hammer that she used when she temporarily took over as god(dess) of thunder. It's been a long time since I read that story, though. I could be wrong.

I thought Eric was a normal guy that got the hammer cause he was worthy or whatever. I'm not sure, definately not reading thor at that point. But the point of it is only the most worthy can use the thing. I'm sure there are plenty of people in both universes that could lift it. Superman makes complete sense as does captian america, I'm not sure about wonder woman though. There are plenty of DC characters that could never do it, batman for instance wouldn't.

Wonder Woman makes more sense than Superman, seeing as she embodies the same warrior spirit as Thor or whatever.

Superman didn't actually lift it under his own power in JLA/Avengers. Thor and/or Odin temporarily lifted the worthiness enchantment to allow him to wield it because they realized Superman stood a better chance with it. I'm fairly certain about that, but it's been a while since I read JLA/Avengers, too. :o

Your right about Eric and Beta, but besides Tiwaz and Odin(I dont think Odin should count) there are only 3 people in the MU that have picked up Mjolnir. Thats is only 1 more person than DC, which is BS.

Yeah because Supes tried to lift it again after they were all buddy buddy and couldn't.

I take it as a compliment for Thor, myself. Thor's hammer is clearly one of those sacred cows, and the fact that so few have lifted it indicates that it's still considered a big deal. Well, until Rulk, anyway.
