Since Sauron is known as the Necromancer during the Hobbit, will he be raising any dead bodies? That would be cool to see.

Huh interesting, Cumberbatch is also doing motion capture for the Necromancer. I wonder they will make the Necromancer look like this:

I'm wondering if the necromancer will be in the very beginning of the film, I just started reading the book, and in the first chapter gandalf mentions an altercation that happened with the necromancer before he got to the shire. I think they might open with a gandalg/ necromancer action scene or something.

Evangline is a damn sexy as a ginger elf. Hypnotic eyes.

how else can i say my excitement level went up or peaked after the image of Evangaline without sounding pervy :hmm

I've got it:

"Checking out the new photo of Evangeline Lilly erected on the the internet has stimulated my interest in this film."

Nothing pervy in that sentence.

I think Tolkein used it in the traditional sense where necromancy = black magic, not actually raising the dead (despite necro meaning death, traditionally going back to say, Christopher Marlowe's Dr. Faustus, it's just a fancy term for black/evil magic).

On the other hand, he created the Ring Wraiths by corrupting their souls with the rings and they are definitely undead shades, so I guess his name is apt in that sense. But, will we see Gandalf fighting zombies? I don't think so, awesome as it would be...maybe Sauron can dig up some barrow-wights so we can finally get to see them on film, haha. I guess there are several undead monsters in the Tolkein-verse...

Interesting... thanks for the info!

Well, that is a handsome ass dwarf.

He is handsome ain't he? Even his brother has a goofy mustache of some sort.

Reminds me of the poster for The Muppets.

I really like the new poster, I wanted to see all the dwarves in one pic and there it is.
