Hey Craig, did you see my thread in the Mod section for a Hobbit Section for the three movies?

Make sure you include a section for LOTR! :o

I want to see this mystical Mod Section. Imagine the chaos it would cause if it were suddenly accessible to us little people...

heh it's not much different really, nothing mystical about it. but it is like Asgard hidden away. :D

Well now I think it doesn't exist, and you guys only talk about it to make us feel like we're missing out. :oldrazz:

Do we know if Bard will have more scenes than just at Lake Town? It's been a while since I've read the book, but I don't recall him being in it more than that.
It's looking like his role will be expanded. Especially since he's in that shot with Legolas at a battle camp it seems

:D

Actually Jackson has spoken about not del Toro's designs, but you may be correct. He does remind me quite a bit of Mr. Wink.

Also with Del Toro involved it would have been with more practical effects than the cg blob seen here.

A Magazine cover or page is not exactly the same thing visually for cgi characters that you see on a movie screen. I think Rag The Brown looks like Tom Bombardil as well but maybe we don't give Jackson enough credit for being a monster lover and can design characters.

I'm not complaining about how the cg looks here, I'm just saying that's not the approach del Toro likely would have used.

I can post it again, but I found the LA times interview with Jackson about his views of practical effects to be deeply disheartening.

James Cameron got into his brain maybe but I am hoping no matter CG or practical that it looks good. Isn't the handsome fellow called the great goblin not the Goblin King.

good at least someone did lol

I just saw it...but I'm just getting to it now since I went to check out The Hobbit premiere in NYC tonight. :yay:

...and no, I didn't see the movie, I was just there to check out the red carpet action. I saw Peter Jackson, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, and a bunch of dwarves whose real names I'm not sure off. I'm also pretty sure I saw Evangeline Lily. I also saw Patrick Stewart and Terry O'Quinn from Lost.

Plus, I got an official Gandalf wizard hat that they were giving everyone in the crowd before the arrivals. Which earned us a big smile and a wave from Gandalf himself.

But yeah, I wouldn't mind having a LOTR/Hobbit section. Let's see what the boss says.

^ All of that sounds awesome!

It was so cool! The only one I didn't see was Martin Freeman, so I either missed him, he wasn't there, or he was there but wearing the ring. :oldrazz:

There were also some wildly annoying PETA protestors there trying to disrupt the whole thing, but they didnt get very far.

I got some pictures, but they're from across the street while I was standing on a guardrail, and it's freezing in NY tonight, so my hands were frozen. But I got some OK ones.
