That video has got me really excited, both for the actual film and the making of it.

I greatly look forward to taking this journey with Jackson and co.

Really looking forward to these blogs.

And man I can't wait for the movie.

The video left me speechless. I can't believe that they're actually filming this. Watching this production coming together is surely going to be a wonderful journey.

DUDE. Was not expecting that video to contain so much emotion, really exciting stuff. Ian McKellen is such a boss.

i loved Lord of the Rings, but i honestly wasn't too excited about this movie. maybe because of the crap that it had to go through to finally get off the ground, but i just wasn't too crazy about it...even though i knew eventually i would get excited.

today's that day. it's crazy how a simple blog about the start of filming can get turn someone around. i was just like "eh...whatever, i'll get excited when i see a trailer" but now i'm very excited to see what they're doing. i'm also very glad that it's in the hands of Peter Jackson.

It was incredible to just see them all sitting at the table even without the costumes. Peter Jackson seems like a really awesome guy to just hang around with.

Kane, could you get a few screencaps of Hadlow in costume? And maybe a picture of that Orc?

Much appreciated .

I think our epic journey through Middle Earth shall finally be complete. I am extremely ecstatic about the film. It is good to see Big Daddy McKellan settling in to his role again. Him entering the room full of the newcomers with his hands behind his back reminded me of a mafia boss. And after watching the blog video I feel like I did when I first saw the Fellowship on the silver screen, blown the **** away.

With all the joy that is flowing in me, I must say that there is one factor that worries me in this film. I worry greatly about Christopher Lee. The man is pushing 90 and he looks extremely frail. For him to come back to the role in his state of health definitely speaks on his passion.

I felt the exact same way!

I can't wait to get the LOTR extended trilogy Blu-Rays in June!,I'll be having a marathon in HD and be thinking about this one.

I've recently watched the extended editions and now I'm sad that we only get prequels, and can no longer see stuff about the lives of these LOTR characters after those events. I kinda wish they had made The Hobbit first and the LOTR movies. It feels kinda rehashing the subject with prequels.

That was awesome. Howard Shore's makes everything more emotional.

Well, you wouldn't have the same actors if did it the other way around. Also, The Hobbit isn't rehashing the narrative of Lord of the Rings, so it's kinda moot.

This movie should be called:

The Hobbitsis: The Rise of Smeagle

I really want to cry right now. Thank you PJ for the coming months of blogs. These movies were surely become classics like the LOTR trilogy is now.

Tears of joy!

True.. I guess I just miss those LOTR characters.

I think Peter has Hugo Weaving in the bag, so for those who are scared about him not returning, don't worry.

I also think the many names we've been hearing (Michael Fassbender, David Tennant, & saorise ronan) are also in.

Who was David Tennant rumored to play (besides Bilbo)?
