In assuming he will be shooting soon? within the next couple of months?

I'm sorry, Doctor Jones. I'm just a cynical piece of **** :csad:.

But what you're saying has legitimate weight, Boom.

On a lighter note, John Rhys-Davies visited the set recently, and he said something interesting in an interview.

AT LEAST YOU WON’T HAVE TO ENDURE GIMLI’S PAINFUL MAKE-UP.

True. I was furious that some of the dwarves in The Hobbit didn’t have anything like the amount of make-up on that I had. But there is one dwarf there, the moment I saw him I had to go up and throw my arms around him and said, ’Daddy!’. All I can say is you will recognise Gimli’s daddy.

This makes me very happy.

There were rumors that the dwarves' makeup are more minimalistic this time around. hmmm.

Oh, man, poor John.

He was probably all excited until he accidentally discovered the make-up was less and an improvement.

He ****ing hated that makeup. He had an allergic reaction to it too. That with putting it on every day.

Is anybody else going to be attending Fellowship of the Ring EE tomorrow? There's supposedly going to be a message from PJ from the set of The Hobbit before the movie plays.

Yeah, I really want to go. There are still tickets available at the theater closest to me, but I don't know if I can. I get off work at 5, takes me me 1.5 hours to drive home (if the traffic gods are supremely kind), and then another 30-45 min to get to the theater. It would be an absolute mad dash to get there, even if I don't go home first.

If you guys go, be sure to be attentive. I expect a full report if anything new is shown.

Some of us have twelve-hour shifts tomorrow, and therefore can't go :o.

:csad:

ZOMGF... I had no idea there was going to be a screening of FOTR tonight! I am going to try and round up my bros to go see it on impulse tonight. There's a digital theater playing it only 15 minutes away! :D

We could get one with Tintin or Sherlock Holmes.

Yup. I've already got tickets for all 3 movies. :awesome:

Just got back from Fellowship. Unfortunately nothing new, just a short video of PJ from the Bag End set talking a little about how they first got The Lord of the Rings off the ground and a bit about the Blu-Ray remaster. Still an incredible experience seeing the Extended Edition on the big screen, I'd recommend to anybody who wasn't able to catch this one to try and catch Two Towers and Return of the King in the next couple of weeks.

I'd say about 20-30 people. I live in Florida, though; most people here think it's either boring or gay. It's mostly the Fast & the Furious/Hangover type of crowd where I live.

My show was pretty full (I saw it in NJ). Not too many there at first, but by the time the movie started I would say they filled up about 80-85% of the theater. The guy hosting asked how many people would be coming back for the next 2 movies and nearly everyone raised their hands.

It looked amazing up on the big screen again, especially with the extended stuff (I saw the original version 4 times during the first release). Was even more impressed that they ran it straight through without a break, there was no intermission or anything (people were asking if there would be one before the movie started). Honestly, by the time it ended I could have stayed for the other 2 movies.

But it was awesome, I can't wait for next week to do it again.

Sounds like your showing was more exciting, I would have loved to see it with a packed crowd. We didn't have a host/presenter, and viewed the movie on a slightly older Christie projector from like 04/05 (I was hoping to see it on one of the theater's higher quality screens), so the picture was darker than it should have been in some parts. The sound was kind of disappointing at my screening as well, just about all of the dialogue was isolated to the front speakers only, with the surround only coming to play for special effects and music, which muffled some of the characters.

Still had fun seeing it on a large scale, though, despite a somewhat lackluster presentation. I probably shouldn't have been surprised, seeing as the theater I went to is run primarily by teenagers.

I know that feel, bro.:csad: (live in Louisiana).

Are they still going to use Del Toro's designs for Smaug, the dwarves, etc? Or will they be sticking with Jackson's dwarves and his own take on Smaug?
