I'm having trouble believing you actually took the time to read through the last couple of pages, because you actually bothered to list the films Kevin's been in and you're using them as a basis for questioning my confidence in his acting skills.

I know Kevin was in those films.

I know Kevin is 50.

I know Kevin can act.

If you took the time to actually read through the thread you'd understand why I know this.

if u agree then why do u keep suggesting him? and please give me an example of him acting well

He thinks Kevin can act. And hes never really explained why even though he seems to think he has. He more or less just restates "Kevin can act"

You do know that WWE wrestlers are taking acting lessons from Freddie Prinze Jr right? The WWE has officially hired him to give acting lessons to the wrestlers. So, no wrestlers as superheroes. or as Thor would say, I SAY THEE NAY VILE BRAGGART!!!

Very good way of putting it, and we are in agreement.

Here's an interesting representation of Thor in that "Regal majesty".

Its by 19th century artist Marten Eskil Winge...

DUDE this is MARVEL's Thor! And this 1st film is his origin, this means Thor will need to be in his 20s or 30s looking in his 20s not 50 trying to look in his 30s. Nash is not the Mighty Thor yes he could be in the film but he's Not Thor.... His Knees are worn out which means he can't do any stunts at all. He's has not proven his self as a good actor among american audiences(yes maybe among the wrestling fans but that's it) u may have met him and seen him act but that's your opinion. Which could be a biased one(not sayin it is,but you seem convinced he is the one and only Thor)and Also Marvel are gonna cast under the same Caliber as Downey,Norton, and Jackson. You may Think that Nash is Thor but that's only u... so your posts are hittin a brick wall cuz no one else shares your opinion. So dude its a lost cause just let it go cuz your just gonna be preaching to an empty church.

You realize that as much as you might like and respect Kevin Nash, he's not actually going to get the role, right?

ROFLMAO!!! Dude you are killing me with the comedy....hahahha.... keep it coming.... this is good stuff...my stomach hurts from that poster....KEVIN NASH??!! lol... Everyone will learn soon enough, my guess is before thanxgiving.... hint, hint...

I guess this Thor thread has its own Steve Ryan Rogers type groupie now too.

Aw, don't say that.

I don't think I can go through that B.S. again.

I have to check out this Skasrgaard guy. Recommendations?

Generation Kill, HBO miniseries, and True Blood, HBO series. MOst of his other work is European I believe

Be happy to help you out dude. Though trust me he should be Cap instead of THOR and after you see these clips you will understand why. Yeah he is a little tall but they can work around that easily just ask Tom Cruise(LOL) I hope this helps feel free to comment....enjoy

Look up you tube generation kill! Yes he would make a good Thor but I really think he should be Cap. I like the guy from New Amsterdam as Thor.

So you want two young modelesque actors to join Ed Norton and Robert Downey Jr?

See, this is something I don't understand when I read the casting choices for some of these characters.

Robert Downey Jr is a rugged, eccentric ex con.

Edward Norton is Derek Vinyard.

Its hard for a guy to dissaprove of those two.

But "Young blonde guy #123 from TV Miniseries #856 for Captain America" is just completely wrong.

Both Thor and Capi are gonna need good actors, yes.

But people, let's actually take into account the visual nature of these characters.

We're not casting Smallville.

And we're not turning 170 pound 6 footers into 230 lb Superheroes over a course of 3 months either.

I think its great that MARVEL wants more out of their actors, but I'm sure by saying that - they're not suggesting reducing the image of their characters.

with every new suggestion or new BLONDE tall actor the casting comedy continues...."pulls out the popcorn and enjoys the show"

We as the fans should be very knowledgeable about THOR, the casting process, who seems like a shoe in and who could surprise us as the underdog casting....BUT....some of these choices are so far from what is actually right for the movie i truly wonder IF u want THOR to succeed....smh...

So far marvel has been on point with their castings and I believe they will continue to make wise decisions about their franchises....

BTW one t.v. show/mini-series does NOT i repeat does NOT put anyone in the front running for THOR, a MOVIE track record is 1st...NOT who's hot on a t.v. series....UNLESS u have a successful string on ALL the above (profitable movies, successful t.v. series, highly rated/award winning mini-series...etc.) If your suggestion does NOT fall into ALL three of these categories then your actor has a slim to no chance at all.... TRUST ME!!! (just trying to save some useless post) hint... hint.....

Unfortunately, Snikt, you're using the argument everyone is throwing at you back at them. They don't want "wrestler" to be thor. You don't want "pretty boy" to be thor.

Problem is Thor is a pretty-boy type with a wrestler's body. We don't get many of those.

I applaud you Ronny Shade.

You got a talent for nailing things right down the center

I don't have a "This is the only actor who can play Thor" choice. But I would prefer that it not be an A-list actor. I don't think that you need A-list actors to play Thor or Cap just because of Ed & RDJ. They are enough to fill the A-list quoto and if you go the only A-list route then you limit yourself to actors who may not fit as well as others.

I think an up and comer is the best route. Some one who has done a number of roles and like broblacksteel said, maybe even someone who has had a successful TV show in the recent past because they are recognizeable to audiences even if their name isn't known.

This really comes down to whether Donald Blake will appear in sequels or avengers & how Blake is portrayed. If they do the crippled Blake route then it's probably best to go with an actor who is 6-6'2" in height and can appear shorter with a cane and then they can do the LOTR style to make him 6'4" if necessary (although I don't think it is).

I certainly don't think that a wrestler who looks old enough to have grandchildren is a good choice.

And as for getting an actor is shape, it took Butler only 4 months to get his body. So this is doable.

This cracks me up because Kevin's got the same face he had when he was 30.

I don't know why he let the greys grow out but without them he looks alot younger.

The greys are perfect for Ultimate Thor, so I'm diggin the do.

And as for getting an actor is shape, it took Butler only 4 months to get his body. So this is doable.

You think Butler's 300 physique is Thor quality???

Jeez, I oughtta post a picture of myself :woot:

I'm starting to sense most people want a tiny Thor that walks around in speedos all day.

Not me.
