Did Routh sign a multi-movie deal?
Well yes and no. All of the main cast signed a 3 picture deal, only after the first movie the studio has "options" to use them in up to 2 sequels. So although they "signed" for 3 movies, WB doesnt have to use them for anything but #1 and they dont have to pay them a dime after that. That's pretty much become the standard contract in Superhero movies these days.
it's funny how the guy from LR and may others have taken that article to mean something concrete. Upon reading it through again, all Lexitz is really saying is Routh has been by to talk about what DC is doing with Superman. Doesnt really say anything either way about him being out or being in the mix (those are the authors comments). Considering he was the last guy to wear the pleather fruit roll-up, err cape, you would think at some point those discussions would take place.
As I said earlier, Levitz is going to be pretty far down the food chain in terms of casting decisions made by WB and whatever director they eventually hire. So his opinion really means little either way.
the way i read that article it just said they called him in to talk about it, which honestly could mean....."listen........you're not what were going for....."
See that is one way you can look at it but the way Levitz makes it seem is that Brandon is still their (WB) Superman. Remember guys all they said they will do is reintroduce Superman and we as fanboys took that as meaning they will reboot Superman but that could mean they would do something like the Hulk where you have a Superman who is already established which Routh could fit the bill. I agree as an origin movie this would maybe be a bad move but as a stand alone series like Hulk or Spider-Man or TDK it can work.So the discussions that were going on with Routh could very well be about not picking up the option to include him on the next film.

Latino Review biased? Not hardly. After all, they were the media outlet who first announced that Routh was Superman and Heath Ledger was the Joker in TDK.
