Hendricks was 185 pounds yesterday, and he was 26 pounds heavy when he arrived in Houston. It's insanity to be cutting that much weight on fight week.

IMHO, a guy like Hendricks should be coming to Houston at 185 pounds.

Obviously, he is getting older. And when you do get older, it's harder to get off that weight. Hendricks just learned this the hard way.

Gus is going to hate himself for not pouring it on more at the end of that 3rd. He was also too passive in round 4 when he could have pushed the pace better than what he did. Had he used his strikes better in round 4 he might be holding the title now, but that's how the game goes. DC got a good win to defend the belt, and he'll probably fight Bader unless they bring Jones back.

Styles make fights. Gus seems to give Jones problems but I can't see him getting that title any time soon. I think it just shows how good Jones really is. I actually didn't Jones would beat Cormier but he didn't convincingly in my eyes. Just hope he comes back in top form.

Hendricks has always had problems cutting the weight & getting down to 170. I've read in the past in the build up to other fights that in between camps he balloons up to sometimes 210lbs. Which is absolutely crazy to think given he's only 5'8 or something like that & even on the fight nights doesn't actually look like he's ripped.

He needs to take a little more care of himself in between camps I feel & there's no harm in loosening the cuffs a little bit on the diet, but realistically he should be trying to always keep his weight under I'd say 200lbs at the very most.

What a fight. Best Cormier I've seen. I believe many are getting carried away by Gus' running. But one judge having it 49-46 for Cormier... that's just ridiculous. Gus hasn't got the "one more round" mentality. He quits. He isn't in the top percentile of the elite. Excellent fighter, but DC would always beat him, as would Jones and Rumble. I can't see any others doing it though.

He said he sometimes gets as high as 218 pounds. In other words, he's cutting similar amounts of weight that Anthony Johnson was before a fight.

Kurt Angle is as big a "what if" as Brock Lesnar is for me, what if Kurt Angle or Brock Lesnar had never went to the WWE & went straight into a career in MMA.

Kurt was a phenomenal athlete with ridiculously good wrestling skills, if he'd went straight into MMA after the Olympics & developed some standup, he had the base for potentially being a dominant LHW/HW.

The same with Lesnar, can you imagine him if he'd went straight into MMA? He was only like 21 or so when he started training with the WWE, if he'd went straight into MMA training & like Angle, developed some standup skills can you imagine how dominant he potentially would have been?

I hope the UFC develops an extensive development program to make sure the next 'Brock Lesnar', 'Kurt Angle' or whoever, isn't lost to the WWE or into some other career.
