Thank goodness for that, the hyperbole was reaching unbearable. I'm just disappointed that Cyborg was not the one to beat Ronda.

While its laughably predictable how the world has overnight just turned on Rousey, this is good for all parties involved. Rousey just got a huge piece of humble pie and her entire stand-up game was definitively exposed. She'll come back hungrier and more experienced.

And the sport gets to champion a new face in the meantime, one who isn't overexposed and offers a different flavor.

That rematch hype is going to be big.

Well I'm not that surprised. Ronda, IMO, just isn't as good as tmshe was hyped up to be.

She's a good fighter... not a great one. Let alone, GOAT. And her flaws were shown tonight.

Great for Holm to get the convincing win AND knockout.

There is no female fighter who can claim GOAT at this point. The sport is way too new, with no depth.

She didn't stay humble, and bought in to her own hype. And when it came time to fight a REAL threat, she couldn't handle it. She was coasting by fighting opponents who had no chance against her, and fell to pieces when she had a real one.

Its pretty much Rocky III IRL. Though funnily enough, Holm beat Rousey like Rocky beat Clubber Lang in the end.

Waaaaay worse. I like Holm, but I was rooting for Rousey to win so she could make it to that fight and get totally rekt.

I'm wondering if Holm will fight her. I think Cyborg is more disciplined than Rousey is/was in this Holm fight. Wouldn't go the same way.

Sad to see all the hate on RR. Yeah she was cocky but the sport needed a female champ who raised the hype.

Everyone loves a winner I guess.

The truth is that nobody's invincible, and sooner or later every champ takes a fall. GSP came back from defeat (to Matt Serra) and was better for it.

My money's on Rousey in the rematch. She should have taken it to the ground and kept it there - if she's guilty of anything it's not giving enough respect to Holm's stand-up, and that's hubris but understandable hubris.

This won't be like Silva v Weidman, Rousey will come back stronger.

Ronda freaked when she couldn't grab her. Listening to Sonnen on ESPN right now and said something that is quite true. She isn't a wrestler and thus when she couldn't grab Holm, she was screwed. She can't change levels. The one time she got a hold of her, it didn't work out and the fight was all but done.

Oh please, I know the stories with Ronda. She is a bad person, and watching her get her ass kicked filled me with glee.

Did you watch the fight? Holm's won the fight with the first punch. Ronda looked shook. She didn't know how to handle getting hit. This was just like Brock Lesnar. Some people who come from wrestling and grappling backgrounds don't know how to handle it and they never learn.

This was the shining moment for me.

People said this with Anderson, and look how that worked out.

They both shared the cockiness which led to their downfall, but big difference is Silva's only weakness at that point was overconfidence.

Rousey's entire fight game was just exposed. If she's not an idiot, she's going to have to come to terms with that if she wants to climb up again.

Either way this is going to be an interesting couple of months. I look forward to all the post-fight analyses and roundtable discussions.

She was shown up to be completely one dimensional. Technical skill beat brawling.
