Fanfics, nothing. That crap happened during X-Treme X-Men.

and thats when the character started to go completely downhill. Actually Maximum Security which gave her every power she ever absorbed

Oh please. It's more than likely that she just absorbed a bunch of powers at once. Something that has happened LONG before Carey ever got close to an X-book:

When attacked by Nimrod, the Super Sentinel from the future, the X-Men were almost defeated. Buried under the rubble of a construction site, Rogue saw no other chance than to absorb the powers of her unconscious teammates all at once, even though it meant to risk permanent disfigurement by absorbing physical attributes like Nightcrawler’s tail and the steel skin of Colossus. The gamble worked, as Nimrod was confused by Rogue’s use of multiple mutant signatures at once. Since after the fight Rogue’s changed form reverted back to her regular appearance, she no longer had reservations against using her powers on physical mutations. [Uncanny X-Men #194]

Not to mention what Fraction did with her in the recent arc where she took down that Predator X with a bunch of the student's powers. It's nothing new so stop acting like this is just Carey fanwank again.

well its obvious thats what happened. I pointed that out on the last page. She is visibly using the powers of everyone on the Uncanny cover except for Magik (which I assume she used to teleport to whever she is)

X-MEN LEGACY #232

Written by MIKE CAREY
Penciled by CLAY MANN
Cover by ADI GRANOV
“NECROSHA”
A classic X-Villain hitched a ride on Destiny’s body when Selene brought her back from the dead. But this villain doesn’t want to be part of the Black Queen’s master plan. He’s got his own agenda. So it’s up to Rogue, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Psylocke, Husk, Blindfold and MAGNETO (what? You haven’t been reading UNCANNY X-MEN?!?!) to take this villain down. Part 2 (of 3)
32 PGS./Rated A …$2.99

im glad and a little surprised they didn't give Husk the generic "blue and yellow uniform to further confuse her with the other blondes we saw at the end of Utopia" look.

So Rogue uses Nightcrawler's powers to teleport? Why isnt she blue, furry and sporting a tail? Its canon that when she absorbs him, she gets all of his mutations, the physical attributes as well

No instead she has the generic red version. I dont get why they gave her the Young X-men's costume. I was hoping she'd have her own look or at least her old Uncanny costume

maybe its an extension of her control over her powers. before she had no control over the absorption, maybe now she can take someone's powers without anything extra.

Interesting. Future cover has her as blue, furry, with the tail. I wonder if they will be consistent then and if she will be drawn as such on the inside

yea i was thinking about that cover and if that is the case then maybe its just a figurative/visual representation of Rogue's skill now- like how she combined all those powers to take down that Predator in Uncanny.

God, Rogue, take off the scarf immediately!

Or what do you prefer? Beheaded or strangled to death?

I agree with the thought that the cover was just trying to represent all the powers she absorbs.

Or maybe when she takes everything from so many people she doesn't possess as much control over what she gets/doesn't get.

In the end, it's Rogue in Legacy. So I'm not really concerned... And nor do I expect it to make sense.

232 may have been my least fav issue of Legacy in a long time. Talk about boring, sheeeesh. Proteus' long winded bad guy babbling was torture and Magneto so helpless is getting old.

Husk

really? I loved it. The book was pretty solid and I love seeing a team again.

I love how they teased the cover of Rogue getting all cozy with Magneto for months and when the issue finally comes it has absolutely NOTHING to do with that. She barely even interacted with him and they definetly werent rekindling or going over their past

I'd have to agree. This issue was filled with the power of Meh. :( Gambit, where art thou?

Ah yes, cause let's bring in more Mr. Meh to spice up a Meh-tastic issue. I'm sorry, Squeek I love you, but Gambit has been meh since the late 90s. Haha.

I agree, this issue was terrible, if it wasn't for getting to see Husk actually do something again I probably would say this is one of the most boring X-Men issues I've ever read.

What gets me is that most of you Gambit fans hate the way Carey writes him, yet you insist that Carey use him more often.

yeah...im thinking this 'team' isnt permanent
well it isnt. The book is working on a rotating cast set up

yeah I dont get it. I like Gambit but Id rather not see him than see a horrible rendition of him. He'll probably show up in the issue where Rogue makes her choice so he can be her lapdog and get dumped again

yeah im thinking that Carey will soon ditch any team aspects and move the focus back to Rogue....not that it EVER left her

I think Carey wrote Gambit pretty well up to the point he re-hooked with Rogue in Australia-then it started going downhill after that kiss. I don't think Gambit fans hate the way Carey writes him (at least that's not the impression I get from these boards) but are a bit disappointed with Gambit appearences as of late. Too many folks had their hopes up.

It seems people really like this issue or are very underwhelmed by it. I like team books, so I might have to pick this one up the next time I'm "home".

To make matters worse for Gambit, it's like Carey saw what Yost and Kyle did with Warren and said ''I want me some of that." So he brought back Gambit's horsemen persona.
