Jennifer Lawrence rumor is coming from Mikey Sutton and DailyMail, two known BSers.

I find it extremely unlikely they would cast her for a multitude of reasons, but especially because she was known to be a problem in X-Men movies. IMO Sue should be in her mid 20s, Johnny in his early 20s, Richards and Thing in their late 30s/early 40s.

JLaw would be a good cast for one or two movies. Something like Blanchett and Hela. She won't do well in a multi movie contract and is a risk.

I just watched a movie and I think Saoirse Ronan would be my choice right now for Sue. Right looks, right age, and a good actress with potential.

Feige and Sarah Haley Finn are at best when casting and I think they'll do some amazing casting here as well.

Eh I'd be cool with Lawrence getting it if that turned out to be the case despite preferring some of the other names that have been kicked around. I do share the concerns though about how much she would be invested in what is likely to be a role she'd have to be committed to for the next 10 years.

I don't want Jennifer Lawrence to dominate, especially as the bigger name. I think the big name should be Reed, if anyone, so that he feels more like the leader of the team than he has in the past movies. With J-Law as Sue, I can see her being promoted to team leader, brains, strong woman, firebrand, invisible spy and stretchy woman.

They might want to make Sue the leader. Reed would still be the smartest man alive, just not leading the team. It doesn't really effect him or the teams dynamic much when you really think about it.

Ethan Peck as Reed

Blake Lively as Sue

Nick Robinson as Johnny

Robert Kazinsky as Ben

Agreed but Tony Stark isn’t a villain
I wouldn't he's much more of a villain than Wanda.
I thoroughly enjoy the first film. Cast had good chemistry, costumes were on point, Evans was...hot and perfect, Chiklis just needed a touch of fx for his costume but otherwise was still great. 2nd film however...I still cant get over them trying to wash away any ethnicity Alba had and that wig...haunts me to this very day.
Eh. I think of it more as them trying too hard to make it look like the comic character

Who's to say they wouldn't still be getting a big name for Reed?

Okay, just heard the Lawrence rumors and no, no, God No. She ruined mystique for me. She does not have the acting chops to play certain characters.

Plus her permanent child face is not what I want for Sue.

Chiklis was perfect. Evans was good. Gruffud was fine. Alba was questionable but could have been worse, I guess.

Julian McMahon was a garbage Doom though. Ugh.

Aww, why does every say Julian sucked? He was Doom ripped from the pages. They just didn't give the man much to work with.

Alba sucked a Sue but gave her all, and I appreciate that. Evans, Gruff and Chiklis we're the stars of the franchise tbh.

All did pretty solid with their characters. I feel like they didn't focus enough on Reed's genius. He should be like Stark in the films. Constantly inventing new items and updating tech.

That Reed was sorta just smart when he needed to be. If anything Doom felt much smarter. He was even able to cure The Thing and trick the Surfer.

No he was not. He was PERFECT casting at the time. He just had a horrible script. If you look at his acting and all, he was good. Don't believe me? Read all the comments at the time of his casting. People were applauding it loud.....including me but..............Fox..............

That cast apart from Evans and Chiklis sucked. Let's not get revisionist here, especially for those movies. The casting was cheap like the rest of the movie and a result of the Rothman led Fox at the time. Just awful.

Agreed. He wasn’t miscast. He was miswritten. Julian McMahon actually expressed interest in returning to the role of Doom only if the Marvel got the rights back. Now that Marvel does have the rights back I wouldn’t mind him coming back. I liked him in the role and thought he did the best with what he was given. The script and direction dragged him down.

Hollywood is full of talent, there is absolutely no reason to return to the 05 cast. None of them where so good that they are inseparable from the characters. Get fresh blood that embody the roles like RDJ with Tony.
Marvel is going to want and need to separate themselves from the bad Fox films.

While I wouldn't be opposed to returning faces. I do agree with this more so. It's likely we'll see all new faces.

That being said the actors of the 2000's films should return into the MCU. Evans already did. Perhaps we'll see them again alongside him in Multiverse of Madness.

Or even wouldn't mind Gruff reprising his role whenever the Council of Reeds is introduced. He as actually my choice for Strange. Chiklis could definitely return as well. He's a great actor.

Alba though...ummm...yeah.

I never realized there was this much love for Julian McMahon as Dr. Doom.

I'd have no problem with JLaw as Sue. Yea, she was in a couple of bad X-Men films, but her performances weren't entirely her fault. The writing was weak, the directing didn't do her any favors. It's hard to blame her for not being excited about the script

She's a very talented actress and imo she would be a welcome addition to the MCU

I don't think it would break the universe to cast her, but I'm not in favor of going that route. I absolutely get that the work to actually play Mystique and go all in with that is hard. But I don't really respect her taking the role and then suddenly realizing how much trouble it would be to actually play Mystique. That she effectively ended up playing herself with a different name just hurt those movies far more than the script.

She's not without acting ability. But I wouldn't be excited if she got cast anywhere in the MCU.

It wouldn’t surprise me though if the next thor flick actually had a secret villain pulling the strings in the background and that villain was the enchantress, played by Jlaw. I mean, you have to remember this newspaper is kind of a jocky right wing type paper so they probably have no clue the difference between Batman and Spider-Man so they just assume all superheroes are the same and got confused

That would make sense. From the incomplete report of the original article we’re working with (and common sense) it seems likely that FF will be filming in Australia, when it starts. It also seems likely that JL will be filming a role in Australia (likely on a Marvel film).

I’m more skeptical that JL has been cast as Sue, but I can’t rule it out based on what we know and what has been reported (and no denial from those who would know).

It’s also possible that JL will be Sue and will be filming that character but in a pre-FF film (that’s why stating the obvious - that the FF is still looking for writers - doesn’t “debunk” this rumor in any meaningful way).

It could go a number of ways at this point, but JL as Sue is at least a reasonable possibility until we learn more, so I’m managing expectations with that in mind and not dismissing it until we know more.

IF... again IF there is anything to the Lawrence talk then for me it would indicate some things about the casting of Reed and by relation Doom.

Lawrence as Sue to me indicates that they are gonna go for a Reed between her 30 and about mid to maybe late 40's. Given her tier of stardom I think this means Reed will be of a similar status in the Hollywood pecking order. I think that while I am not predicting him exactly, think of Bradley Cooper, her Silver Linings co-star, someone in that wheelhouse. And... If that is what they are gonna go for with Reed then you need equal stature for Doom, though I could see them maybe widening the net a bit age wise there, given the usual casting of heavies, so... More in the Daniel Craig range.

Again, I'm not saying these performers per se, but if Lawrence is being looked at for Sue then I don't think it is a stretch to think that the rest of the cast might well play out as I outlined.

If J-Law is to return(?) to the MCU, it should be as mystique only (similar to how Evans is Quicksilver).

I want someone new for Sue Storm. I know the popular fan cast is Emily Blunt, but I honestly just don't see her joining the MCU.

Then again, I thought they'd cast someone completely different to who they did for the DCU Supergirl, so...

Just no J-Law, not for the F4. Thanks.

JLaw should play Gwen Stacy in the SM Reboot. I mean Zendeya's MJ, why not lol.

I watched the 2005 film the other day and it was not nearly as bad as I remembered. Everyone felt well cast to me. Maybe I’m crazy!

So apparently we haven’t seen the “aerospace engineer” yet, but I suspect it’s more likely Iron Heart or Blue Marvel than Reed.

WandaVision Star Teases a Big Payoff to the Aerospace Engineer's Identity

But we’re also still waiting for that “Luke Skywalker” sized cameo, and Reed could qualify for that, but I wouldn’t put Iron Heart or Blue Marvel in that class.
