My new favorite for Reed is Oscar Isaac

Reed Richards: James Franco, but since he showed interest in playing Multiple Man my 2nd pick would be Jake Gylenhaal
Sue Storm: Alicia Vikander
Johnny Storm: Timothé Chalamet
Ben Grimm: I have no idea

Victor von Doom: Mads Mikelsen, but since he was Kaecilius (which shouldn't be the problem --> Cumberbatch/Dormammu) my 2nd pick would be Javier Bardem

And I don't like Timothe Chalamet as Johnny either. Or James Franco for Reed.

Why will they favour that? They didn't favour that for Cumberbatch or Rudd. They went older with them. If Strange were too young he just wouldn't have had the same gravitas as he does.

They could get someone like Matthew Goode, who has also worked with Cumberbatch before.

The idea grew on me, but my problem is that I want these actors to encompass the characters to the point where you can only think of them in the roles (like Jackman with Wolverine or RDJ with Iron Man).

Whenever I think of Oscar, I think of Poe and that will likely be the case for most people.

That's not so much the problem as he can put on muscle. I find that he looks too *****ey and haughty. Exactly why I didn't want him for Peter Parker.

I get where you're coming from but some will still think Sherlock with Cumberbatch, Owen in Jurassic World with Pratt, etc so it wouldn't be a big deal.

Plus two others have already played Reed in live action.

I would hope no one would throw a fit this time. The original MBJ outcry was one of the all-time low points of the fan community. That said, if we're race-swapping a character again, I'd rather have Reed.

Here's the thing.... I was here the whole time and the whole MBJ thing was never that big a deal, at least around these parts.

It became a scapegoat for the film-makers and supporters of the film to cast every detractor in the same negative light when, from what I could tell, there weren't that many folks here who were actually that up in arms over it. Most of the discussion on the hype centered around how terrible every single aspect of that movie looked and sounded from day one, and the MBJ thing was just one small part that some people didn't particularly care for.

If the film-makers had actually, you know, made a good movie, I don't think it would have been brought up so much. So yes, the MCU could totally cast the human torch as a black guy and it would be fine because they'd likely make a good movie out of it.

Well I am not trying to start anything I am merely saying that when you are attached to characters, you want them to look the part too so I would prefer the F4 to look as much as they can like their comic book counterparts and that includes personality, race, gender, etc...I hope that doesn't result me in being called a racist or or some equally unjust name just because I want my comic book characters to look as much as the characters can be...just my two cents.

Well look at Benedict...he was both Strange and Dormammuu...Mads could be Doom...I mean if we want him to be Doom behind the armor, its his voice that will be the determining factor and his physical presence...we could have a younger Victor actor...

Yeah the MBJ outcry was nothing. What pissed people off is everytime Trank or anyone tied with the production talked about the Fantastic Four they kept talking about it being a pseudo horror film in line with Chronicle. No one wanted that and it was pretty clear, no one wanted that.

I remember way back in 2002-2003 time frame when we first got wind of Ronald Moore's reboot of Battlestar Galactica the fan community from the original show was up in arms that they gender swapped Starbuck. When the show opened to huge ratings and fan excitement, no one cared that Starbuck was a woman and Katee Sackhoff became a favorite on the show.

They could do it like Darth Vader. It was obviously not James Earl Jones in the suit. Only the voice. David Prowse was the body double.

It's just whether Doom is ever going to take off his mask. But I don't think he should. Keep him masked the whole time.

Of course, if he's always masked, they could bring back Julian McMahon or Toby Kebell.

Yeah, visuals aren't everything but they are something, comics and films are visual mediums. Visual closeness/trueness to the original works is an element (as is acting ability) to judging and enjoying casting and often the final performance.

Definitely, stay true to the look of the characters in the comic books. I also find it more rewarding as a fan, when someone really looks like the part, that it was like the comic book character came out of the comic book into the real world.

Well Julian McMahon can't come back as Doom in the MCU now since he's shown up as another character.
