I want the next reboot to turn the scale down instead of topping TDKR. I want Batman to deal with street level thugs and criminals.

We need more lower-scaled superhero-movies period.

The success of The Avengers has assured that this won't happen.

Too much money to be made

Whedon said that the sequel would be more small-scale and personal, story-wise.

Did he? We'll have to see if Disney/Marvel let's him have his way. I personally doubt it.

I wish I remembered where he said that, but Disney/Marvel better let him have his way - he made them a lot of money, right?

If Marvel don't listen to Whedon after what he did for them, they are fools.

Yeah, if it was in Nolan's world, probably.

Sure, detective work will be exhilarating (and the exception) under Fincher. And Mitt Romney will restore America's economy with ethical business practices. :o

A Roman Polansky Bat film with the Mad Hatter as the villain.

Agreed. But the movie clearly sets up Thanos for the sequel's villian. Can't really do small scale and personal with such a cosmic character.

And viewers will gripe if TA2 isn't as grand as the original. Ever really seen a sequel that is smaller in scale than it's original? Never happens. Studios get money from a film and throw more cash at the next one in hopes of bigger success. Iron man 2 for example.

Also, small scale is an subjective term, so who even know what whedon means by it?

I am pissed that my one and a half day marinated steaks have spoiled. What a waste.

Why are you marinating a steak that long? To marinate, you really only need to do it for a good 1-2 hours at the most.

You're right, but what I mean is I don't think Whedon will do a sequel with yet another invasion similar to Loki. You have to think of something a bit different.

It wasn't done on purpose actually. I closed the last two nights, so I marinated it ahead of time with the intention of cooking them that same night, but I was too tired each time.

There are a few holes in the lid I sealed it with that I just now discovered.

Well, I'm assuming you're talking about a liquid marinade, and not a rub, but you can't marinate for longer than 24hrs. Most marinades are acidic, so it'll break down meats and fish if soaked too long. Fish especially.
