So Martin Scorcese is lazy as well . Directors like working with those they are familiar wqith if they fit a part . Its not lazy , its knowing what they want and who they trust to give it .

Indeed!

Like I said, skeptical but I'm sure he'll do a great job.

It almost feels like this is the real sequel to Batman Begins. Now don't let that sentence get you worked up. I'm just saying that with all the connections back to Begins, it's like this is actually the first sequel to Begins, and The Dark Knight is the second. Like Rises is The Empire Strikes Back, and TDK is Return of The Jedi in some twisted way. lol, I'm probably not making any sense, It just feels like more of a direct sequel to Begins, then The Dark Knight was.

I'd say RotJ is more of a sequel to ANH than TESB is.

I wonder if there will be any type of nod to the Holliday killer, or if the role will be somewhat reinvented as simply the new mob boss. We all know Nolan is a fan of the Long Halloween, and obviously Holliday played a deliberate role in that.

Could you elaborate?

Always going by Goku's analogy of TDKR being more of a sequel to BB than TDK was. RotJ goes back to places and characters we met in ANH, while ESB was more of a "departure", as in it was mostly comprised of introductions of new places and characters. RotJ took elements from ANH and ESB (along with some new ones) and rounded them up to finish the story.

That's what I suspect will happen with this trilogy. I don't know if I'm making any sense at this point, though.

I always figured this trilogy as the magic trick-segments in The Prestige:

BB is the Pledge: the setup
TDK is the Turn: the self-explanatory denotation
DKR is the Prestige: the effect of the illusion is produced.

I sure agree with you!,Now I'm wondering IF we'll get to see BB locations again like places in Asia or in Gotham places like Arkham Asylum&The Narrows!?!?

I'm willing to bet much money that we'll see either Arkham or Narrows again.

I hated Goodfellas and Casino because Deniro and Pesci were already in a Scorsese movie in Raging Bull. It was a a disservice to the audience by an exponential factor. It ....stank. :o

there's relativity in this.... it strikes you when you discover the movies in theaters chronologically... but when you've never seen it and get the DVDS or whatever the lack of originality is not that obvious !

I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

This is quite possibly the most idiotic thing I've ever read. Do I need my sarcasm meter?

:doom: :doom: :doom:

He does have a sarcasm smiley at the end of his post.

Why doesn't he replace his Brother, Goyer, Zimmer, and Pfister too? Yeah, they're always a successful team and they've turned out something unique every time, but it's not an original choice. So get rid of them. Come on Nolan, we don't want you to make the best product possible with people you work well with. We want a new crew.

New crew? That's too simple. Not good enough. I want a new Nolan. To avoid lack of originality, he needs to reinvent himself.

Or at least buy a new vest.

:o

Yes and why not bring in the craft service department while you're at it...

If every movie ever made had the same cast, however """"great"""" that cast was...it would not be as good as the way hollywood has worked for the past century.

Who needs wesley snipes and will smith when Denzel can handle just about any black male role there is...
and yes that was a serious question.
