Well Asylum wasted NO time and gives NO ****s...

They have a pretty great thing going for them. I mean, for very little time, money, and effort, they can rake in a lot of money over the mistakes or laziness of film renters. It's not like it takes much effort to be fairly informed about the movies you're going to watch, anyway. It's sneaky, but pretty damn smart.

I hope 'Atlantic Rim' won't reduce the chances of a sequel to Pacific Rim featuring European Jaegers and being set in Europe.

Also, I hope this film isn't 90% in shadow. I just saw Mothra versus Godzilla on the weekend and one of the things I was really impressed with, besides the imagination and the ability to care for the non monster characters, was the monsters didn't always attack at night or dusk and some of them were bright and interesting looking like a blue ringed octopus.

These monsters look bright and look interesting as well. The night scenes really do wonders with all of the hyper colorization and neon glows. Honestly, I think this movie is going to be more badass than Mothra Vs Godzilla, even though I haven't seen that movie.

Pacific Rim needs all the help it gets to sell this to the GA, MoS doesn't need that much work to sell comparison wise.

I think the trailer in front of MoS will be the main sale. Assuming MoS is a very enjoyable movie, people will come out excited and feeling great. They'll remember the Pacific Rim trailer and make a mental note to see it!

I do. The approach here, every 4 shot is some sort of fist fight or tracking money shot. With in film sound and heroes screaming and falling over after the fact....I'm talking within the time frame of the trailers. At this same point, I think PRim is really swinging for the fences with their released footage.

I have a feeling MoS has more action in it than this movie.

Right now, Pac Rim is tracking at around 50 million OW, which is quite good 2 months out. This will be a hit, no doubt about it. I just cant wait for this, it looks amazing, maybe it looks for geeks only, but I couldnt care less about the GA, it's high time we got a movie such as this one for us geeks, Del Toro, thank you !

Now of course, I want this to be successful to get a sequel, but it's good to have a movie like this.

I also dig the Hollywood-esque melodrama of both the voice-over and Elba's speech – seems to fit the heightened feel of the movie to a T.

Seems hard to say, Verbinski is pretty tough to beat imo.
