I already thought someone said it is used as a weapon in the movie, could be mistaken.

No, I don't think anyone has said that. Tons of other weapons mentioned in the movie. But not the chest cannon.

They're going through a rough patch right now because of percentages of $$$$. The new head of WB is trying to solve the conflict but it's not currently working.

Keep in mind that Legendary isn't just a finance company. Thomas Tull is not just a business man, but also the creative type, which is somewhat rare in Hollywood. That's why it's a shame Legendary may be leaving WB. Which means WB is on their own with their DC films (MoS 2, Justice League) and may lose the distribution rights to future films like Godzilla 2 or Pac Rim 2.

That's why WB renewed contracts with other production companies like Alcon, etc because they know they might lose Legendary. Also, keep in mind, Legendary owns 'Warcraft' so that may not be a WB partnership. That's why WB is pushing for 'Dungeons and Dragons' on their own to level the playing field.

But in the end, a movie like Pac Rim could NOT exist without Legendary. They fully (or mostly) financed the film by themselves if I'm not mistaken.

Have you heard something more recent on this? The last I heard about it was months ago. A lot could have changed between them since then, unless you know something new. I think MOS might be some motivation to keep them together. And of course, Pacific Rim.

I love the Legendary and WB partnership, so I don't want to see them split.

If all goes well, I'll be interviewing Travis Beacham on Monday.

I hope we get another trailer next week when Man of Steel comes out.

UK press got to see 15-minutes of footage from the film, some early reactions: http://***********/PacificRimUK

Haha, knifehead sounds hilariously derogatory. Classic.

sounds great. One person said something to the effect of "you havent lived until you see a Jaeger suplex a Kaiju over a bridge." Some of the reviewers stressed to see it on the biggest screen that you can to take it all in. I so hope this does well at the box office. With what Del Toro has put into it I feel it deserves to do well.

Ya know I was just thinking about the small possibilities about a Pacific Rim and Godzilla 2014 crossover. It's really not all that difficult to imagine. The kaiju come from another universe through a portal right? Well depending on how it's explained in the movie or any other canon material, we theorize that this portal can cause other breaches in other universe. Makes crossover/fanficition an easy thing to explain.

Or we use radiation to create our own Kaiju resulting in Godzilla's creation

Or...the dimensional breach opens in the Tohoverse and Godzilla fights Tresspasser.

Will anyone actually get these in the mail? Hahaha

One wonders what Tyler Durden would think.

cool stuff thanks for posting. It may have been mentioned before but I did not know that the portal is called "the breach". We also now know that the Kaiju vision is trained for movement. Wonder how the defense corps figured that out. I like the "duck and cover" part. Like that really helps when a 3000 ton feral monster starts stomping the building you are hiding in to rubble.

The whole duck and cover thing just really harkens back to that 50's educational vid. "Hey kids, your inch thick plywood desk will totally protect you from those Soviet nukes!"

Slime secretions sounds like something new. Or are they just referring to their blood?

I spy Scunner, my favorite of all the kaiju thus far.

Saw a new TV spot during the NBA finals right now. Notable new footage I saw was Striker Eureka firing its missiles at a kaiju (wasn't the Hong Kong battle either). Another piece of footage was Cherno Alpha smashing its knuckles together.
