They start out as nuclear, I think, Gipsy Danger is the only one left by the present time of the movie though that still does. The rest run through a newly developed form of Electronics.

Thats what I wonder about with Gipsy Danger. Is it legendary because of the nuclear reactor. Or because Raleigh and Mako are like...then perfect pair or something? Because going by the trailers and all. Gipsy Danger looks to be dominating all the kaiju that appear. While the others can't catch a break. Why?

Well the nuclear reactor plays a factor into why it's not as vulnerable to some of the Kaiju, but they do drift really well, and Raleigh has the experience, and the two of them both have an interesting driving force against the Kaiju. I'm trying to be helpful, but purposely vague, because that kinda touches on a lot of plot points otherwise haha.

Well it does make sense. Their will to destroy the kaiju is probably more intense than the other pilots. Since they lost family and all.

That new featurette got me more excited for this movie than any of the trailers, I love the thought process behind how the Jaegers work.

Anyway, is it just me or is the artwork for Knifehead really off? It's like they took his head and slapped it on Trespasser's body.

It does look different. I can't see the smaller set of arms, or the other hand. The art on Knifehead looms...especially off. It looks like he's damaged. Pretty much looks like he has an entirely different body. Doesn't look like the body from the video game or movie.

I like what I am seeing online. I went and saw Hangover 3 during the weekend but the new Pacific Rim trailer was not attached. It is also supposed to be attached to FF6 and people did not see the new trailer either. I know it can be hit and miss when it comes to trailers but I still think the attachment rate should be better even before Man of Steel.

Another thing I have seen with all the released footage has to do with Crimson Typhoon- the fingers on the two right side arms have a dual mode. It looks like then can be used like normal fingers to grab and make a fist for punching. But they also have a blade mode and they can spin becoming lethal buzzsaws.

Knifehead on the first pic looks damn realistic, great lighting.

There's a body part from a Kaiju on the second set pic with Del Toro, wonder what it represents. Great concept art too for other Kaijus !

Man I freaking love Knifehead. I really hope the NECA figure does him justice. Going from the movie and video game, he's about bigger than Gipsy Danger. But the figure looks a little shorter.

yes you really get a feel for the size of the Kaiju. That second shot of the Kaiju next to the Jaeger pilots standing on the shoulder of what I think is Striker Eureka is very interesting. We did see Striker get hit with a EMP/electrostatic charge from the Kaiju in the latest trailer. Thing is why would the Kaiju after disabling the Jaeger give time for the pilots to come outside? I hope this movie has some of the really visceral moments from Cloverfield. In that film you get a real sense of what a giant monster attack would be like that you dont get with Godzilla films (hopefully the new Godzilla film will be different in that regard.
