Pacific Rim - Part 3

You see all 4 of the main mechs fight the monsters. Gipsy Danger is the hero so you see it the most.

That's good to hear, although I wish they'd show more of other mechs in the trailer.

Relationship between the two main pilots is good, I liked the way it was done.

So is their relationship strictly platonic? Usually when the main pair of characters are of opposite sex Hollywood would try some sexual tension between the two. However, I can't really read what kind of relationship the two pilots have from the trailers.

@Autonet

I see you've made camp at BO.com LOL, hope you don't abandon the hype

Autonet, I got two questions. They're spoilers, so pm me the answers.

1. How is the portal closed, who does it and how? I know some type of nuke is used.
2. What is the mid credits scene?

The new trailer is definitely what they should have had playing before Man of Steel. I also like the new logo.

I think the final trailer is epic, and really makes me want to see it now. But I agree that Del Toro staged too many battles at night and during storm. It makes it seemed like the CGI studios used the darker environment to hide their deficiency. In that Jurassic Park scene, when they first encountered dinosaurs, it was daytime and still remains as one of the most impressive special effects scenes ever.

Some of the other clips have shown the fight in Sydney in broad daylight.

They're staging most of the fights by nighttime because the Kaiju's blood is bioluminiscent (blue color), and you can see it coursing through their bodies, there are even bioluminiscent dots and markings all over their bodies, the markings are BIG SPOILER
tracking devices so that the overlords in the anteverse can track the Kaijus

I don't understand the question, if you're asking about the markings, it says so in the art book, without any other precisions.

Ah, I meant how did they find out about the markings in the movie.

What? Who are you talking about, I didnt see the movie, I just have the art book.

My bad. I thought you did see the movie, and that's how you found out the info about the markings.

Honestly I've been waiting for a good looking live action anime movie forever and for that very reason (and Del Toro being an awesome director) I have to see this film. It's too bad that Hollywood already ruined Dragonball and didn't put as much effort into it as the this film had put into it.

This should fit the bill then. Dragonball....ugh *shudder*

An Android game seems to have surfaced: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...n-augmented-reality-beat-em-up-and-photo-app/

I just got back from a screening. Movie is awesome. Everything I wanted. It's a great adventure start to finish. While I stepped out of Man of Steel a little disappointed, not so here. It's pretty much exactly what I wanted. I got a very Jurassic Park kinda feel from it. They have the same "dire adventure" feel. Del Toro does great in explaining and crafting this world.

Only people who won't like this are people are people who are just too cynical. People who would just outright reject the entire premise.

They have actually done a great job not showing anything at all. This movie has a lot of heart and the trailers and TV spots really haven't shown much.

If you have any questions, shoot em.

Do you think it will leave a big mark on kids, and does it leave much of its concept un-exploited? Like, are the foreign jaegers made out to have a bigger part in the promo campaign than in the movie itself?

It'll leave a big mark on kids, a good one. Not sure what you mean in the second question. I'd say that the promo stuff mirrors the amount you see them in the movie.

Does anyone else here think Charlie Hunnam has a sick voice?

so are the Jaegers purely mechanical robots??

are they "sentient" in any way?

It's more of a strong friendship that could lead to more later.

ah, thanks.

also, I've heard that the monsters are really being controlled by another race of beings.

do they get into that aspect in this film?

Yes, it'll be explained.
