Paramount Dumps Tom Cruise

i'm saying the PR convinced cruise that apologizing was the best option for his career, what I said makes perfect sense, you may not like it or agree but it is a logical theory.

It's immedietly got a number of people sympathising with cruise just on these boards so to me it seems like a smart strategy

and Cruise couldnt just be a normal guy who knows what he said was wrong?

so he's suddenly turned against his strong scientolgy beliefs and repented for what he previously believed in?

he never said sorry for what he believed in, just that he used her as an example

I didn't say he apologized for what he believed in, he made the comment about shield because his beliefs didn't agree with her use of the drugs, and so what the article was saying was that 'Tom Cruise has apologized to Brooke Shields for criticizing her use of anti-depressant medication', meaning that he apparntly felt wrong for applying his beliefs on someone who doesn't believe in them. Considering Tom's strong scientological views, I don't believe the apology was voluntary

Ummm yeah, exactly. Hes not turning on his beliefs.

a person can't have such extreme beliefs and not expect to recieve backlash from them, especially if they announce them to the world

i never said he was right

why would i want to do that?

your mother

...i'm a nice person, really

Tom still said sorry on his own :(

I can't say for sure what his motives were for apologizing to Brooke. But it would carry more weight with me had he done it BEFORE getting 86'ed by Paramount rather than after.
