Paramount Dumps Tom Cruise

Damn.
I guess you'd know. :)

What makes you guess that?

I don't know. Just a feeling. If I said something happened in a recent Black Panther issue would you believe me?

He basically said psychiatry was crap; a "pseudo-science" I beleive was the term he used. Pretty funny coming from a guy who follows a religion based on the philosophies a science fiction writer.

Yep, thats truth.

Well, of course.

Good point.

I'm a little suprised by this. He was still a pretty bankable star, however I guess they thought after how MI 3 turned out compared to WOTW or other flicks they felt like he had become too much of a media joke to the extent where they thought future movies would steady decline in revenue. That might have happened or maybe he was really difficult to work with but it still a pretty dumb move from a business stand point. It's a risky move

Damn, he was so good actor in movies like Born on July 4th, Rain Man and Jerry Maguire :( And now he ruined everything :down

Mr Cruise, focus on your work and shut the **** up about the rest. Simple as that.

What people also don't realize is how many great directors he's worked for:

Steven Spielberg
Stanley Kubrick
Oliver Stone
Francis Ford Coppola
Ridley Scott
Tony Scott
Martin Scorsese
Syndey Pollack
Rob Reiner
Barry Levinson
Neil Jordan
Brian DePalma
Cameron Crowe
Paul Thomas Anderson
Michael Mann

...and a few others I am leaving out. That's a very impressive list of talent he's worked for/with.

Yeah, he's worked with all of the greatest directors currently living, but the funny thing is, nearly every movie he's in is one of that director's worst films. Not asserting anything, just noting.

I think the failure of MI:3 is actually a result of traditional sequel fall out. MI:2 lacked the intelligence of MI:1 and it became an action flick. People were unsure about 3 because was it going to be a actioner or a slightly good movie? This confused the audience, target or not. I personally thought that the 3rd part was amazing, it should have done much better. Are Tom's antics part of what made it a failure, sure, but you cant put all of the blame on that when there was clearly other reasons involved. I dont know its just my opinion and i happen to like cruise alot.

MI3 Kicked unholy ass. Cruise makes great movies(Cocktail has inspired most of my life decisions, and I don't just up and follow films lightly) and he seems like a generally nice guy. He has strong beliefs and if people ask him about them then of course he's going to put them forward. There are a few things that sounded sketchy(Like the water pistol guy- but I wasn't there so I don't know who was being the ass) but overall he seems like a wonderful guy. Met him once for about 20 minutes, waiting for a boat and a limo. He was awesome. As for the merit of the religion I think anyone that questions his beliefs should go **** themselves- beliefs are beliefs and you are entitled to them. As a non christian and a non scientologist I can say without bias that they both sound equally bat**** to me, but you'll never see me ever say or even think that someone who believes in them shouldn't believe in them. As for the Brooke Shields thing I can easily see why our media would constantly twist it, sad really, but I don't find what he said to be degrading in any way. They are friends, after all, friends with a disagreement.
He's always been honest and open so far as we can tell, and it's a sad day where that has become a bad thing.

I think the hatred towards him has gone a bit too far. The media has definitely played a role in turning him into the 'villian' of Hollywood for lack of better words. So he believes some wacky **** and is inlove with a girl 20 years younger than him...so what? He doesn't believe in psychiatric medicine...his choice. From his perspective I don't think he was attacking Brooke, but more trying to 'help her'. And Brooke had some rather mean things to say in return...unneccessary personal jabs.

I'm not a staunch pro-Cruise fanboy...but it seems Mel Gibson can be as crazy as he wants and thats ok, because he is hiding behind Jesus while being crazy. The fact of the matter is, a lot of people don't like Cruise anymore, just because he has come public with certain beliefs. Either that or because it is trendy to dislike him.

The man is a great actor, is one of the few left who will spend hours signing autographs for his fans, is apparently a hell of a nice guy as well. People need to get off his case already.

Thank you! It seems like scientology is the religion that it is 'politically correct' to bash the hell out of, so people are jumping all over the bash scientology ship.

Nah. Mel Gibson has always been a crazy, religious nut. Him ranting about the Jews in a drunken haze is really no suprise. Tom Cruise all of a sudden becoming a nut-job was unexpected.

I agree about the Katie Holmes thing but I don't like anyone that tries pushing their religion over everyone elses. Do I believe in Scientology? Hell no, it's the dumbest crap ever invented. The thing is there are other Scientologist actors and actresses who don't push forward their religion like Tom is doing which is why a lot of people can't stand him.

Gibson has always been very involved with his Christianity but he doesn't push it like Tom does. And the drunken rant he had is incomparable to Tom.

I wouldn't say he's great but he's one of the better actors in Hollywood. I highly doubt that there really is only a handful of celebrities who will sign autographs.

People might get off his case if he stopped pushing everything about himself into the limelight.

You say you dislike anyone who pushes anything on others...yet here you are "Its the dumbest crap ever invented". Tom didn't push it, it became public, he got asked about it in interviews and he responded.

Gibson has always been very involved with his Christianity but he doesn't push it like Tom does. And the drunken rant he had is incomparable to Tom.

He doesn't? Have you seen The Passion or any of his PR work during that time? The fact is, its ok to push something if 85 % of the population agree with it.

Not to the capacity that Cruise does.

People might get off his case if he stopped pushing everything about himself into the limelight.

If everyone dislikes it so much, then quit picking up copies of People Magazine and buying into it. The fact is, Cruise is just a bit of strange, eccentric guy and the media is turning it into a fiasco to sell magazines and the public is eating right out of their hands.

I don't think he suddenly became a nut-job, I think it just became trendy to see him as a nut job so the media started covering it a lot more.

It was bound to happen, but can they seriously do that? And openly admit that it had everything do with his behavior? Doesn't seem right...Cruise could sue em.
