It'll reportedly not even have the character in the series, just following Clarice catching killers.

So... A typical procedural show.

When they could've just brought back the masterpiece that is Fuller's Hannibal

And everyone who ignored Hannibal cause they couldn't get over Hopkins or it was too artsy etc etc will eat this Clarice **** right up.

Such a shame even if we get very, very lucky and get a resurrected Hannibal we'll probably never get to see Fuller's take on Silence of the Lambs and the almost inevitably superior ending he would've given Clarice, since they'd already functionally adapted Harris's Hannibal and given Will the romance with Lecter instead of her. The Hannibal/Will love story is provocative and beautiful, the Clarice/Hannibal love story was demented.

But that's the thing with Will and Clarice. Hannibal is intrigued by Will because of that natural darkness within him. He's intrigued by Clarice because she's genuinely pure/incorruptible.

One of the reasons Joker always steals the show + an Oscar vehicle + people love is because it's a showy role -of course- (what the Oscars love). And his costume is only clown makeup, otherwise it could not be that big showy role (i.e. Batman).

Yeah, it's a clever play on words, as 'still' and 'lies' both function as double entendres here.

With still, the more obvious of the two meanings naturally refers to inactivity/stagnation, whereas the other one can be interpreted as continuance (e.g., Joe Schmoe still posts here under a different screen name.)

Lies is even more simple.

Lie: to be in a flat position on a surface
Lie: to tell a mistruth

I have hope that we'll get a sequel to the show at some point. Fuller's never outright ruled out a return to it, he'd love to. Just a matter of getting publishers interested and the like. I could realistically buy a short series or maybe even a film on Netflix of Fuller's Silence. And it'll be fantastic.

On the subject of Paul Dano, does anyone have any recommendations of good movies that he's been in, or where he's given a good performance?

I've seen 12 Years a Slave, and Cowboys & Aliens, but haven't seen There Will Be Blood in its entirety, nor have I seen Prisoners, among others. Still, 12 Years alone sold me on him being a good pick by Matt Reeves. But does anyone recommend other films to get a good sense of Dano as an actor?

There Will Be Blood and Prisoners are must sees. If you really want to get a sense of his range, I'd suggest those and Love & Mercy, Ruby Sparks, Swiss Army Man,For Ellen, Little Miss Sunshine, L.I.E*, and The Ballad of Jack and Rose.

*L.I.E is a very disturbing movie, but he gives one hell of a performance for a teenager in it.

How sick would it be if that first victim has a snake in his mouth? I keep imagining the tape getting removed from his face in the morgue and then you start to see his throat move and someone says “either he’s still alive, or I think something is in there”. I can just feel the suspense build as the piece of tape from his mouth slowly comes undone and a huge snake slithers out. Damn, I have chills.
