Brian Cox adequately served his purpose as a plot device but was bland and unmemorable.
It'll reportedly not even have the character in the series, just following Clarice catching killers.I love Cox and Hopkins but Mikkelsen is head and shoulders above them. Dreading that inevitably embarrassing new Silence of the Lambs sequel TV show.
Such a shame even if we get very, very lucky and get a resurrected Hannibal we'll probably never get to see Fuller's take on Silence of the Lambs and the almost inevitably superior ending he would've given Clarice, since they'd already functionally adapted Harris's Hannibal and given Will the romance with Lecter instead of her. The Hannibal/Will love story is provocative and beautiful, the Clarice/Hannibal love story was demented. It'll reportedly not even have the character in the series, just following Clarice catching killers.
So... A typical procedural show.
When they could've just brought back the masterpiece that is Fuller's Hannibal
And everyone who ignored Hannibal cause they couldn't get over Hopkins or it was too artsy etc etc will eat this Clarice **** right up.
Don't ask questions, just consume product
I'd say two friends constantly trying to kill each other, manipulating each other, mutilating each other etc is a touch more "demented" lolSuch a shame even if we get very, very lucky and get a resurrected Hannibal we'll probably never get to see Fuller's take on Silence of the Lambs and the almost inevitably superior ending he would've given Clarice, since they'd already functionally adapted Harris's Hannibal and given Will the romance with Lecter instead of her. Oh it is absolutely demented in a cool and interesting way, the Hannibal/Clarice romance felt demented in a more meta-textual way that didn't seem particularly aware of how disturbing their relationship felt.I'd say two friends constantly trying to kill each other, manipulating each other, mutilating each other etc is a touch more "demented" lol
But that's the thing with Will and Clarice. Hannibal is intrigued by Will because of that natural darkness within him. He's intrigued by Clarice because she's genuinely pure/incorruptible.
I would've liked a love triangle between an incarcerated Hannibal, Clarice, and an on-the-run Will popping in on Clarice when she least expects it in between the main storyline just to get some info from her and see how Hannibal is doing and all lol. A "Devil's triangle", if you will, since Hannibal is the devil.
If you like your Hannibal calm you will LOVE Mads.I don’t like Hopkins’ Hannibal. I prefer the calm Brian Cox version. Much more terrifying. Haven’t seen the show Hannibal yet.
I keep picturing a poster of facially scarred Will and Stag Hannibal on each side of Clarice's shoulders and get chillsOh it is absolutely demented in a cool and interesting way, the Hannibal/Clarice romance felt demented in a more meta-textual way that didn't seem particularly aware of how disturbing their relationship felt.
That would be really, really cool. Bet that is exactly what Fuller would've done. Man, I hope we get more Hannibal someday. I'm very, very satisfied with that final episode - I think it plays like an ambiguous ending rather than a cliffhanger despite, you know, the literal cliffhanger - but my god was there more story to tell.
Oh boy, you are in for a treat if that is your Hannibal preference.I don’t like Hopkins’ Hannibal. I prefer the calm Brian Cox version. Much more terrifying. Haven’t seen the show Hannibal yet.
I know Amazon wanted to pick it up but Fuller’s gonna Fuller so he turned them down because they supposedly wanted it faster than he felt able to pull off. Fingers crossed they get another shot.Still hoping Netflix saves the day and gives us seasons 4 and 5 of Hannibal.
Mikkelsen is GOAT.
They also found it too... Artsy or weird for audiences to vibe with or something?I know Amazon wanted to pick it up but Fuller’s gonna Fuller so he turned them down because they supposedly wanted it faster than he felt able to pull off. Fingers crossed they get another shot.
Secret Joker confirmed. He lies still. Both a riddle and a joke!
If he's not full hiding behind a mask for the entire movie....i feel that dano's gonna knock this one of the park and make his riddler one of the most memorable batman movie villains.
like, the only on-screen riddlers that matter will be: frank gorshin, john glover, paul dano
i didn't watch gotham.
and i'm not a fan of jim carrey's riddler.

On the subject of Paul Dano, does anyone have any recommendations of good movies that he's been in, or where he's given a good performance?
I've seen 12 Years a Slave, and Cowboys & Aliens, but haven't seen There Will Be Blood in its entirety, nor have I seen Prisoners, among others. Still, 12 Years alone sold me on him being a good pick by Matt Reeves. But does anyone recommend other films to get a good sense of Dano as an actor?
