Actually, I've always thought Rhino would've been a great villain for the Spider-man reboot films. He is different and I think with some talented writers they could've made his character pretty cool and fun. Of course he is dumb as rocks but that is what makes him stand out. He is just a mindless force of destruction. With a real mastermind as the main villain (like Norman Osborne) it could have been pretty interesting.

The mech suit looks RIDICULOUS. It takes everything that could've been interesting about that character and turns it into a joke. Cross-species angle would've been best. Nobody laughed at The Hulk in the Avengers. They could've had a monstrous villain with brute strength. That is something that has never been seen in the Spider-man films, sure, pretty much all the villains have super strength but none on the level of Rhino. Instead they decide to put a wimp in a suit. How is that not a disappointment?

When I was thinking about Rhino being on screen I was thinking something more like this:

People say they would laugh at this if they saw that on screen?....yeah right

Why would they go with the classic Rhino design and put tech underneath?

Having a tech suit villain is a nice breath of fresh air from all the other villains being genetic mutations. There has to be some variation otherwise it would be too repetitive.

Ultimate Spider-Man's R.H.I.N.O. makes more sense to me than the classic version to be honest. I'm glad they went with this design instead.

See, they did pretty much EXACTLY what I wanted them to do. They made the suit Mechanical, but they're using Aleksei Sytsevich, not Alex O'hirn. And he's still a dumb russian thug.

Agree with this. They are combining the best elements from both incarnations of the character.

@Hmarrs I don't think he's going to be THAT huge. Like in equivalence to the photo you posted from the video game, definitely not.

I don't think he will be much bigger than what we see in that video game image. Its hard to make out his height in the trailer because there is nothing to compare it to.

We've seen those set photos though with him with the rig. I bet he's around...up to the chest/torso area of that video game photo.

Exactly, yet somehow Mark Webb still "doesn't know what he's doing/ruining Spider-Man" even when he's doing the same thing as most comic book movie directors/crew(quotes from YouTube poster mostly)

I think people tend to complain about anything that doesn't come from Christopher Nolan or Disney/Marvel.

If TASM2 was an MCU film I bet very few would complain about the Rhino's look.
