Days of Future Past Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask - Official Thread

What a great man this Trask is, protecting us humans from threats.

Yeah, he's like a smaller sciencey Joe McCarthy protecting us from the dirty Commies (not).

I liked the look of Trask and that viral website is just amazing!

Dinklage needs to ride one of the sentinels into battle.
I don't know why but I'm unable to picture this any other way:

Peter Dinklage is definitely the new cast member I look forward to the most  He does such a great job on Game of Thrones and he's particularly great at projecting the intelligence of the character.

Love the 70s look (even if it's bound to inspire hundreds of Ron Burgundy jokes and mash-ups :woot:).

Dat 70's porn* look.

Looks pimpin:word:

I also thought that. Even though I've seen Peter in tons of roles besides Tyrion when I saw that picture of trask I said to myself "now there's a gentleman who enjoys company of a prostitute nature".

Looks awesome though. Can't wait

this cast addition is giving the movie a great buzz and hype.

Such a smart decision by Singer. Big Props, Bryan

what if Trask himself is a time traveler, he goes back in time an uses his advance knowledge of future technology in the past to build Trask inc. and become rich and powerful...

making an alternate timeline, where Trask inc. and sentinels have always been around since the 70's (despite them not being see or mentioned in the original movie)

Stryker is dead, so what if Bill Duke has cameo in DOFP and his character continues, what his father/uncle started...

Behold the supreme awesomness of Peter Dinklage and his porn star mustache.

Actually I asked my family about track in x3 and they couldn't remember, making me think the average watcher/fan may not remember so easily retconned

He was in the movie for all of five minutes at the most and only called by Trask once - most regular movie-goers aren't going to remember that.

Average watcher doesn't even know who's Trask in comic.

Yes, the Trask retcon is as easy as the Emma Frost retcon between X-Men Origins: Wolverine and X-Men: First Class.

And considering the nature of both characters involved, and the roles they were given the 2nd go round, totally worth whatever inconsistencies may or may not arise.

Definitely a case where the pros outweigh the cons.

Peter Dinklage talks Bolivar Trask

When it was announced a few months back that "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage would be playing Bolivar Trask in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past we all started referring to him as the film's villain, but that's not how Dinklage sees it, at least in his portrayal.

“I didn’t want to play the villain,” Dinklage told EW. “He’s a man of science. He’s a man of invention. He actually sees what he’s doing as a good thing — [his ambition is] definitely blind and he’s quite arrogant. He’s strove all his life for a certain respect and attention.”

Not only will Trask be taking on the "mutant threat," but he'll have some big human opponents in the movie as well.

"He’s up against Richard Nixon,” Dinklage said. “He’s got some hurdles.”

I suddenly have the feeling Trask and Stryker will be conspiring against Nixon to get Sentinles off the ground.

Sounds like Nixon may not be a villain in this:funny:

"The road to Hell is paved with good intentions." That saying seems to apply to Trask quite well, judging from Dinklage's comments. He kind of sounds like a Human version of Magneto, believing that they are doing good and that that justifies the morally questionable acts that they commit.

Sounds like Nixon may not be a villain in this:funny:

Isn't that obvious? I don't think FOX is gonna make a previous U.S. president (which is based in real life) a villain in the movies unless that president was really vicious in real life and had a big negative reputation to the public.
