Days of Future Past Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask - Official Thread

I've got such a nerd ***** for this movie.

I'd love for him to be the human antagonist. Maybe a part of Nixon's administration?

I was thinking that too and I googled Nixon's Cabinet and there was no one he could play looks-wise. That is of course provided that they follow the Nixon's Cabinet to a T.

Hmm... don't know how I feel about this yet. If he's playing this guy named Puck, that's just ridiculous imo. I've heard he's a good actor and all, but I just hope he's in a role taken seriously...

Just because he's a midget he can't be taken serious?

He is outright amazing on Game of Thrones.

It's GOT to be Puck. I mean come on, its the most obvious casting ever.

Whoever Peter Dinklage is playing, I doubt it's Puck. Puck isn't relevant to the comic book storyline, and I doubt he's relevant to this adaptation either. They wouldn't cast someone of Dinklage's current status for such a goofball character, as nothing about Puck contributes to the story. They are not bringing together James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, and now Dinklage, only to have him play a character known for his cart wheels.

Which is why i don't think he'll be playing him or perhaps even a mutant. I sort of feel dinklage is at the point of being an actor now where his physical appearance isn't really the main reason he is being cast for roles now.

I think despite people assuming his casting will be connected to his height that singer will make a "point" and he'll be cast as a normal human.

Devin Faraci over at badassdigest (he was best known for chud.com) is speculating Dinklage could be playing a motion-captured villain. He's thinking Sinister. I'm not so sure about that.

Well they can always make Puck more interesting. They did it with Toad and Pyro. Besides, these movies mostly focus on their real names. So he'll probably be called Eugene most of the time.

With the casting of Dinklage, it makes me think that Alpha Flight might also have a role in the 70s since Wolverine wasnt affiliated with X-Men until the first movie.

There are likely 2 choices here.

1:A mutant(possibly new character) In future.Perhapes brillent mutant scientist who devolps time travel
2:Someone at Nixon white House In 1973

I am more Inclined to believe 1.

Best people get sinster out of their heads. You have sentinles In future.Magneto and brotherhood In 1973(have people forgotten It was brotherhood who was suspose to kill kelly In original comic. In film It will likely go from Mystique's brotherhood in original comic to magneto here) plus possable Intrigue at White House. Now I am betting It's Nixon Magneto wants to kill.As why that Is and why 1973 was choosen who knows.

That's a possibility but Gateway is black.

And I think Trevor Fitzroy is a better fit for a mutant that can open time portals. Also he's related to Sebastian Shaw.

He's not black, he's Aboriginal.

I'm not sure about that either, but I agree with why he thinks Dinklage isn't playing Puck.

To be honest bringing in an actor as good as Dinklage to play a character like Puck - who is not that deep or interesting, and is mostly known for his silly looks - seems dumb. It feels like a major waste.

Toad and Pyro make sense in their respective movies. Puck doesn't make sense in this one. He could be a mutant in the 1970s, who helps the X-Men, but the team already has an acrobatic character in Beast. And, unlike Puck, Beast provides more than that. Besides, one of the reasons Fox is tackling Days of Future Past, and bringing back the big names and recognizable characters, is that the more obscure, lesser known mutants of First Class didn't sell well. So, knowing that, why bring in Puck and why cast someone like Dinklage to play him?

I'm gonna say Trask, Mastermind, or another human antagonist.
