Having human villains,Brotherhood,and Sentinles are enough for enemeies of X-Men for one
film.Trask ay very well replace Kelly as target of Brotherhood.Apocalypse Isn't needed for
this story.I would rather see the brillent Idea of Peter Dinklage as Trask.

Well with Star Trek I have feeling If Khan Is In film It's exactly Peter Weller's role which none Is talking about.

Since Bryan SInger revealed Nixon Is an actully character In film having Trask also makes sense.

If Peter Dinklage is the main antagonist in the movie then Bryan Singer probably announced all the major players in the story of the movie. So the next cast announcements should be for supporting characters.

I wasn't really saying that Apocalypse would be the focus of the story. Instead, I was thinking more along the lines of what the Avengers did. Have Apocalypse behind everything that happened but the audience doesn't find that out to the end and the characters won't find that out at all. It would build to a sequel much like the Avengers did with Thanos or the TDK did with the Joker.

He had a file of his own along with Project Wideawake in X2. Since Bolivar has been used, maybe they'll just let Gyrich be the creator of the whole thing.

The version of Gyrich seems more comparable to Emma Frost being in both Wolverine and First Class or Beast technically being in both X2 and X3 than Trask being in both X3 and Future Past

Most people won't even remember Trask from X3.

And if they switch the actor from a black guy to a white midget, no one will even put the two and two together (outside of hardcore fans, but even as one, it doesn't bother me at all.)

Wouldn't strike me as a massive retcon. They already done as such with a couple of characters and nobody really kicked up much fuss. Plus it's not like Trask contributed much to X3.

No, he doesn't. He is nothing more than a man named Trask who stares at two monitors and is used as an an excuse to cut away to Mystique. Beyond that, nothing about the character is memorable or significant to the movie in any way. Trask could be cut from The Last Stand, and it wouldn't make a difference. The fact that they paid Bill Duke to occupy such a meaningless role is absurd.

Emma, on the other hand, is revealed to be the motivation for Silverfox. Emma is the reason Silverfox agrees to work for Stryker. Emma is the reason Silverfox manipulates Wolverine, and Emma's freedom is one of the reasons Silverfox and Wolverine go back to Stryker's base and the final events of X-Men Origins unfold the way they do. She has more screentime than Trask. She has a notable power display. She was featured heavily in promotional material, including posters, trailers, TV and internet spots. Moreover, her inclusion and pairing with Cyclops was a stepping stone to the cast of the then First Class movie. Then, production turned around and rebooted the character in Vaughn's First Class, a film released just two years later.

In my opinion, there is no comparison between the two. Emma has the more notable role in X-Men Origins, and the rebooting of the character is far more obvious than that of Trask, if that is who Dinklage is even playing.

I honestly think we should throw continuity out the window and start looking at this series as more of a reboot than a prequel. If we are dealing with an alternate timeline then that's exactly what it is. I think the future sequences should serve as a throwback to the original trilogy and a loose continuation to some characters, and then just change the timeline such that the core X-Men survive the doomsday events of the future, and then we can get another trilogy down the line with the classic lineup.
