Plastic Man Movie in the Works at Warner Bros. (Exclusive)

Classic DC Comics hero Plastic Man is getting the big-screen treatment.

Up-and-coming screenwriter Amanda Idoko has been hired to pen the script for what will be a comedic action-adventure for Warner Bros.

He's never been a favourite of mine but I know he has a lot of fans who have been wanting to see him on the big screen so I hope WB do him justice.

The project is in the early stages and has no filmmaker on board. Details of Idoko’s take were not revealed, but her hiring caps a half-year search by the studio to find the right person the job. Warners is planning on staying true to the light-hearted and even silly tones of the character, say sources.

Curious who they cast, but I'll admit now that I'd love if Ben Schwartz got it. His work on House of Lies is what sold me on him and have loved him wherever I've seen him ever since. But Bill Hader would be a solid pick, too.

If he wants it, he should get it. He’s talked about it before. If we get a passionate actor in the role, we could have another Deadpool/Reynolds situation

I would go for Johnny Knoxville or Seann William Scott as Plastic Man...or even Nathan Fillion...either way Plastic Man in the DCEU he can join the eventual Justice League as a new member

I think the window has closed on both of those guys getting the role.

Ben Schwartz or Bill Hader feel a lot more likely.

I’d really like Schwartz to get it. His enthusiasm has me excited

Plastic Man has been in development on and off for a while, I think Ben Schwartz would be great but Hader would be good as well.

It should be an action comedy in the vein of Deadpool or The Mask.

Seann William Scott would be fun, but back in the day, Jim Carrey would have played this. not sure about Hader or Schwartz.

Jim Carrey was always the best choice for this. The Mask was basically Plastic Man already.

Remember when The Wachowski's were going to direct a Plastic Man movie in the 90s?? I bet they had Carrey in mind

Jim is too old for the role now which is why you want someone with acting ability/comedic timing like Paul Rudd over at Marvel for Ant Man but for Plastic Man here in the DCEU...so if Ben Schwartz were cast I wouldn't be opposed

Bill Hader gets my vote. If he wasn't already Steve Trevor, Chris Pine since he's genuinely that plastic, man.

I am excited for this, I have been a Plastic Man fan for a long time, I remember watching his cartoon when I was a kid in the 80's. That is what put me on to him.

As for casting Bill Hader is spot on perfect. I definitely support that choice.

Warner Bros cast Hader as Ritchie in IT Part II when he was the top pick among the fans so there's hope for his inclusion but will WB do it again with Plastic Man??
