Judging from Magneto's scene at the end of the movie, and the number of Rogue fans disappointed with her choice, do you think it's feasible that the cure is not really permanent?

I'm going to say no, though I did debate it being related to power levels. Perhaps the more powerful the cure, the less amount of time the cure will be effective for. Hence Magneto is very powerful, so the cure didn't last for long.

I'd still debate whether Rogue actually took the cure.

the cure cant be permanent since it didnt work on magneto and he was stabbed with like 4 darts full of the cure..and thats more then a mutant wud usually be injected with probably so i guess it wudnt depend on the dosage.. maybe it does depend on the mutant..or maybe it just weakens power or weakens power temporarily but all that aside my vote is for no. the cure is not permanent

Depends, but not on the mutant and dose, but rather if the producers want to make more movies or not :p

It really depends.
In the comics, you can´t take away a mutant power forever, because it´s something natural.
The only way to do that, would be to rearrange their genetic code.
You can see that in Storm (when she lost her powers to Forge´s weapon) and Angel (when they cut out his wings). Both were without powers for some time, but the powers regrew with time.

But, imagine that, if Leech´s powers can deactivate mutant powers for a short period of time, what would happen if they get injected with that same power?
Leech´s powers become permanent, deactivating mutant powers.

A: I can’t remember the details of the session but I shouldn’t be surprised if I was especially alert to any equivocation to such a question. You see, some crackpots think you can “cure” homosexuality, which is an abhorrent and ludicrous concept for a gay man. In the film, the cure is all too real . . . or is it?

That's a pretty interesting take on the cure. As hard as you try, you can't change who you are.

the cure to me is for real, i think the final scene with Magneto was meant to show how he was so almighty and powerful, and now just dwindling away! It ironic that in the beginning of X2 it was him playing chess with Charles and now he is resulted to nothing expect what he thinks is the loss of his friend

I seriously think that in X4, the twist will be that the cure is temporary!!!:o

Of course it'e temporary.

Rouge would be uselss character otherwise.

Magneto will be back and more Pissed off then ever.

Rouge will Have to go from touching to no touching making it harder than ever.

Mystique will be back and she wil absolutley rip Magneto a new one.

the nature of Leech's power is temporary, so anybody who gets the "cure" will get their power back sooner or later. how quickly would depend on your "power level".

Nope, the cure isn't permanent.
I am guessing because Magneto was so powerful, it wore off quickly.

The cure is, or atleast should be, permanent. Magneto's slight revival of his powers simply proves that he is too powerful to be cured, considering that he is probably one of the top 3 or 4 most powerful mutants in the movieverse. Magneto is a rare exception, but making the cure temporary would just cheapen it.

my theory is this: It depends on what class you are

if you're a powerful mutant like mags, your powers will probably come back. if you're a low level mutant, they wont

I wish it was like that.
All level 3 or below were drained, but mutants Level 4 or above, like Magneto or Pyro got the powers back.

It would be a nice way to lower the mutant count, ala House of M.

yes she took the cure. she wasn't wearing a glove when she took iceman's hand at the end of the movie. and she didn't absorb his powers.

so unless the cure wears off.

i think it depends on your class level of mutant power,i was saying exactly the same thing to my dad about this especially b/c of the magneto scene at the end

That is exactly what I was thinking.

Leech doesn't remove a mutant's powers permanently.

So, neither the cure! It wears off!

And I can see Mystique going after Magneto for revenge somewhere in the future.

i agree lol i didnt over look that i always have thought that. its sorta proven wen magneto moves the chess piece.

I am sure anyone that was paying attention to the Ending with Magneto would figure that out about the Cure & I see Mystique joining the X-Men just to piss off Magneto
