The Amazing Spider-Man Possible plot leaked!!!

Why do people always say TDK or BB was an accurate potrayal?

Just gonna say this! I rewatched BB last night. It was anything BUT an accurate adaptation. People have it stuck in their heads that sticking to the comics makes a good movie so when they see Batman get a good movie they think it's because it followed the comics. TDK followed The Long Halloween though. That one has an excuse. But BB changed so much. Very little of that movie was ever in the comics. Basically his source of inspiration and the very basics that need to stay (names mostly) remained. Other than that, nothing.

Batman Begins and Dark Knight were extremely well done. That's how I want Spider-Man. Extremely well done.

That is all.

You might want to edit your post then.

BB actually improved the origin of Batman, and went into areas the comics hadn't explored yet.
It finally showed us a realistic psychological process Batman went through to realise he did not want to use a gun in his fight against crime, or killing.
The characterisation was the exact same as the one from the comics, nothing was changed there, just the mechanics, and as the years BW spent travelling the world has been pretty all over the place in regards to comics presenting it, the movie did not 'change' much, it just presented another method of training he found, using Ras Al Ghul was a masterstroke, but it's a shame they lost the Ducard figure from the comics, as he was an interesting character in his own right.

and ontopic...I read the start of the plot for the movie, but then did not want to spoil myself, but what I read sounded very plausible to me, and made me feel this could be a very good SM movie.

When one deviates from the comics, when is it an improvement and when is it just taking liberties?

LMAO! :woot:

Why do people always say TDK or BB was an accurate potrayal?

In spirit, it was.

It nailed all the important elements of the character's psyche even if it changed the factual events.

There's nothing that makes me love TDK more than the interaction between Batman and the Joker in both the Interrogation Scene and the Finale. Those are golden accuracy points in Batman's mythos.

When people say they want Spider-man to be like BB or TDK I suspect they actually mean the treatment that their loved media can get and not to rip off Batman. They want a modern take that still stays accurate to the source of the characters and their struggle.

seriously ditch the detective crap and the ghosts and the plot could work

Who here is saying BB or TDK are accurate portrayals of the comics? I don't see anyone saying that.

What the films are doing is simple, they're doing a fair job in adapting the mythology of batman.

What some people need to understand is, these films get praised because they are well made films that handle the subject matter and the movie-making process seriously. Obviously Nolan made changes, no one is debying that but here's the gold dust, those changes weren't taking adverse liberties and subject to poor execution.

I find it partially amusing that some people hate on Nolan's films because they're cited for doing a good job and so said people need to fabricate sentiments on behalf of others. Nice try folks but no.

imho what TDK\BB nails (even though I think BB is hideously overrated) was taking a superhero and placing that hero smack bang in the middle of a realistic world. it makes for compelling cinema. but truth is BB\TDK take just as many liberties with the character of batman as SM1 and SM2 took with spider-man.

this realistic apporach absolutely 100% works for batman and would probably be ideal for daredevil as well, but spider-man? no thanks, at least that is not a spider-man 'I' want to watch anytime soon.

This script sounds "grittier", but with a good direction it could offset the darker elements of the script. If we have a Spidey film that acts like 500 days of Summer, but has the tone of this script, I think it could be an awesome combination. If Spidey has a sense of humor and is whipping out quips, it wouldn't seem like a TDK/BB replica, since Spider-Man actually has some character for once. So I wouldn't say that this is a ripoff of TDK. It has plenty of potential with a worthy director.

Well this has no mention of a scene with PP and Gwen at school in romantic tone i.e. from the set pictures
seems like an integral scene that would be in the plot outline

Doesn't seem like this is the real deal (thank god, thought it was quite trash)

Just throwing out that BB and TDK weren't absolutely 100% like the comic books. Anyone who says otherwise needs to re-examine their beliefs.

That being said, they were GOOD adaptations of the comic books. Sure, flaws here and there, but what movie doesn't have them?

The Spidey movies sure as hell weren't 100% accurate either. But I like it like that. New and fresh ideas, as long as the basic themes and principles are kept. Which I thought they did great overall.

I also can't say I'm thrilled with the leak here. Sounds dry and unexciting. Could just be the brief summary format it's in though.

could be because they were. just a theory though.

really?
so batman has a tumbler in the comics?
or a batpod?
two-face was created when oil catches on his face on fire in a warehouse?
ras al ghul is caucasian?
bruce starts his training in his late teens/early 20's?
batman has watched a villian fall to his death without at least ATTEMPTING to save said villian?

accurate? what would you class as loose?

Don't forget league of shadows training him, scars, and no permawhite joker.

Yeah this is what I was getting at lol.

No comic book movie is adapted 100% to the material. You're just silly if you think so.

Yeah even kick-ass, as much as it did adapt the comic, took liberties.

sin city
100% like the comic, right down to the dialogue.

even 300 is slightly changed.

Well I've never read those actually. Sin City was good, I thought 300 was dumb myself. I really do not like the constant slow motion style and over-artsy designs. Just me though.

And yeah, Kick-Ass REALLY changed some things. I love the movie more honestly.

this really isn't the thread for this...

yes, he has a batmobile in the comics.
and a batcycle.
two-face was indeed created by the evil of gotham city destroying him from within.
bruce traveled the world and learned various skills to become batman.
and yeah, he actually did that in his very first appearance.

i said it was an accurate portrayal, not a motion comic. we don't need to have a dick measuring contest over it.

Batman? Again? Nothing is ever 100% accurate. Have a look at a novelist who makes a screenplay out of his own work. That won't be 100% accurate. Even the comics aren't 100% accuarte when a different artist comes along with a fresh idea. Times change as do ideas and genres bend the rules to fit into the confines of their own format. Some things change for the better, and some for the worse--it's always a risk but it keeps our heroes alive. If they were stagnant and stationary, then it's time to complain... and to worry about the future of the genre as a whole.

Even if they ripped every single detail from a certain comic, it wouldn't be accurate. Why? Because comics are different too, each one of them, by now, is a retelling of something that's come before. And who's to say which one they should use as a template? People are working hard at bringing your hero to the screen with whatever means and talent they have at their disposal, and your complaining about a f***ing hairstyle and some fingerless gloves.

Please leave a message if you have anything useful to add.

I don't have to much of a problem when things change, even big things when they make sense within the context of the story.

doc ock is controlled by his arms, is unhinged by the loss of his wife.
loved loved LOVED this change, so much more three dimensional than the comic

tying sandman to to the death of uncle ben.
...WHY? HATED this change.
what purpose does it serve? you mean to tell me there was no other way to get eter angry at sandman, he was wearing the black suit for pete's sake he didn't NEED a motivation to get angry at sandman.
