The worst part of this whole thing is that now her career seems "over", some of the crazy and disgusting comments from that "fans" who suggested that she should do an AV and make an AV debut....were really disgusting!!

Some misogyny fans who bashing, attacking, and demonising her are those same people who're celebrating and eagerly awaiting to having chance to make her as their sex object.

I really don't know if I have anymore heart to watch the rest of the series.

(But on a bright side, at least Kamen Rider Zeztz is kicking' right now)

I know that using illegal substances is very, very much discouraged in Japan. But, one would think a culture who practically forces alcoholism on people would be a bit more forgiving on underaged drinking.

As for attacking the actress, well not too surprising. A lot of the components of MAGA over here cooked in Gamergate. And, well, you have similar political issues as we do right now.

The role of Gozyu Unicorn / Black Ranger will be a recast.

Starting episode 40, Sumino/Gozyu Unicorn (previously played by Imamori Maya) will be played by none other than Shida Kohaku, a familiar face for Sentai fans as she's previously played a role of Haruka (Oni Sister/Yellow Ranger) in Avataro Sentai Donbrothers (2022).



So not a new character but straight up just a new actress playing the same character here. It will be weird feeling for sure but I guess they will act like nothing happened here, its the same case with Rhodey and Banner recast in the MCU.

I really suspect that the fact that the main writer of Gozyuger, Inoue Akiko-shi is the daughter of Inoue Toshiki-shi, the main writer of Donbrothers, has something to do with Kohaku's coming back to the series.

It still suck that we lose Maya more than mid way through the season, but at least with this recast, the script won't be facing much overhaul.

Your referring to Brad Hawkins who was originally set to replace Jason David Frank role as the White Ranger. Before the fans demanded for Tommy's return. Brad would later be the voice of The Gold Ranger in Ranger form in Power Rangers: Zeo.

Because VR Troopers took from three Metal Heroes series, Shaider, Spielban, and Metalder. I would say the series also was the source for the other, more well known Saban toku show, based on Beetle Fighter and Beetle Fighter Kabuto....

In Tokusatsu sub-genre, there are lots of different series, the most popular ones are:
Kamen Rider
Super Sentai (the source for Power Rangers)
Ultraman
(they are the big 3)

Metal Heroes (the source for V.R.Troopers)
Kaijuu (Godzilla, Gamera)
and other heroes (like Gransazers, Garo, Gridman*, Megaloman, Zaborger, etc)
(*fyi, Gridman was the source for another American adapted show, Super Human Samurai Cyber Squad)

And the upcoming new Toei series replacing Super Sentai will be a brand new series called "Universe Heroes" which will be the mixed elements of Super Sentai & Metal Heroes.

Looking good...though I don't get it why Toei chose red instead of silver like Gavan's original combat suit color.
If they want to do a red Space Sheriff, Sharivan is right there!

Watched Gozyuger episode 40 yesterday, right after Kamen Rider Zeztz episode 12, and surprisingly they didn't go with Iron Man to Iron Man 2 route where they acted like nothing happened when different actor plays Rhodey... but instead the explanation for Sumino/Gozyu Unicorn's actress' change was....just plain dumb my goodness lol.

And Sumino really feels like a different character, too.
Especially the mannerisms as Kohaku's potrayal felt very different than Imamori's. She is literally a different person just with the same name lol.

But then again...given the circumstances, I think this is best route that they could've done in short period of time to salvage the rest of the show.

One more news about the status of Super Sentai series after Gozyuger ends its broadcast amid the arrival of Project R.E.D. from the interview of Shirakura Shinichiro-shi, a long time Toei producer.

a very informative interview...this is the important keys that I've gathered from the interview:

Super Sentai series won't end, its just on hiatus.

When Sentai eventually returns, it could be 10 years from now.

Shirakura-shi mentions the challenges that the Super Sentai series have to overcome in recent years, that is the popularity of the Western Comic Book heroes, namely the Avengers.

Project R.E.D. is not a revival of Metal Heroes series and he stated that we should not expect that Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity will be like the classic and original Space Sheriff series.

The new Gavan series will feature robot battles just like Sentai.

and the new series will be like MCU or Star Wars world where it will be a connected Toei Tokusatsu universe.

Shirakura-shi also states that after Gavan Infinity, they still do not have a plan, but he said that Toei is looking to deviate from the traditional tokusatsu superhero show.

Lastly, Shirakura-shi added that he wants the Project R.E.D. to expand globally to compete on a global stage not just with Marvel and DC, but with other Japan's own phenomenons like Demon Slayer and Chainsaw Man.
