Prince of Persia:The Sands of Time

Well, I don't think that 'District 9' would fit there. But, I hope that you recognize my point.

'Hunter', this is me. Okay? I'm stubborn when it comes to movies like these because I always think about what they could do to bend the genre; besides just giving us some action sequences that we may have never seen before. Sure, the movie may entertain you. But, why not add some more added sprinkles to spice it up? From what I've seen so far, there are (pretty much) no sprinkles. [But, remember, this is just what I'm sensing from the trailer. I'm not trying to pretend like I've seen the movie already. I'm just casting judgments.]

My point was that Hollywood makes more movies than just the ones that come out in the summer, do you think movies like No Country for Old Men and The Wrestler come from Canada? while some may have indie backing in the end there is Hollywood money pumped in to them and Hollywood talent working on them.

But you're casting judgment on very little, trailers for movies that come out in the summer focus on the spectacle, whether the characters are likable and entertaining is something you have to wait and see, but the truth is in the summer movies are meant to be fun, not saying they need to be dumb but a cracking adventure script and characters you can root for are the bedrocks of the genre, as opposed to being deep and meaningful.

Meh, I'll give this a chance. I'm a huge fan of the games and of the storyline.

Anyone think this could possibly break the trend of bad video game films?

I still believe the best one is Silent Hill. Resident Evil, Hitman, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat(the first one is a guilty pleasure I suppose and the sequel is trash), Alone in the Dark, Bloodrayne, and Doom were flat out horrible.

If this can break the trend then there's hope for a great Zelda, Metal Gear, and God of War films.

Studios don't care that nerds want every movie to be "dark like the TDK." They just hope their movie makes money.

Does the movie look like Pirates 4? Well yeah, sorta. Do I care? No. I'm just hoping to have fun with it. None of the Indy movies were smart but I still dug the hell out of them. I like good fun adventure movies and I'm hoping this will be just that.

I have no problem with anybody thinking that the movie looks like crap as that is their opinion but I think that it looks like fun so far.

Maybe I'm a bad fangirl/movie fan but I just never felt that every movie had to be uber serious in order to be good. I know thats the in-thing for the fanboys to think today but thats just not me.

I'm hoping this movie is a good adventure flick that becomes a huge hit and causes some studios to final make a MGS and Zelda movie with big budgets and good actors ect.

Seeing the trailer makes me want to see this movie more and more.

I don't recall anyone saying this franchise should be dark.

Also, those who say this scene reminds them of AC, it's what The Prince would do in the latest Prince of Persia game. Whenever there was a new location to go to, you had to climb to the highest point of the area and scope it out.

Yeah, that's also what you had to do in AC also. Climb up and check out the area to get leads on your assignment.

Looks pretty lame to me to be honest
Same. Watching the trailer made me think, "the next Super Mario Bros/Street Fighter," and not "good movie."

Super Mario Bros/Street Fighter? Even if you think the movie looks bad that sounds incredibly harsh. I mean, have you seen these movies? They're not just bad... they're terrible. Street Fighter in particular is ****ing atrocious.

This at least looks like it will have some fun action, and stay closer to the game in terms of story.

Hey, even Tomb Raider, the first one was a big hit in 2001. It was still a piece of ****.

Kent, I've lost count of how many posts we've seen thinking the same thing about video game movie after video game movie.

How is it harsh? I'm just saying it looks like the next not so good video game movie. I could have compared it to Uwe Boll made video game movies to be incredibly harsh, but I didn't.

Also, those two movies I referenced, were still enjoyable even though as movies they sucked and as adaptations were even worse. So settle down.

The movie looks like a fun adventure movie to me. And thats it. I haven't seen the flick so I don't know if it's good or not but right now, I'm feeling good about it.

Ofcourse everyone is intitled to there opinions as I stated before.

I think the movie looks like fun. I'm not greedy enough to hope for another POTC 1 but I'd be happy with a National Treasure 1.

And Jake looks sexy as all get ou
t.
something for the girls .:cwink:
the guy is in ''superhero'' shape. and i also like hes outfit.

Us ladies need something to look at in these loud action flicks.

I'm just kidding I love loud action flicks but hot guys do make them better.:awesome:

and right so. why can the girls also not enjoy a hot guy in summer. the difference is that Jake will be hot looking in may for the girls but still inteligent and with some acting talent.

I know thenumbers.com as a pretty reliable site, right on par with BOMOJO. But unless they really have links to news articles stating the budget , i'm just going to file this under "rumored" :cwink:

Even with tax rebates and whatnot , this movie looks way more expensive then 150 man.
your right.gotta say CG Jake looked pretty damn good

Yep and the girl is cute too. She was very likable in her small role in Quantum of Solace. Better than the lead female actually.

I'm surprised at how good Jake looks in the role. I didn't know rather he was going to do an accent or not so I was pleasantly surprised when I heard it.

Regarding the budget:

Every studio says that they spent 150mil on there big budget tentpole. Thats really the go-to number for those lying ass studios. The movie screams 200mil to me.

I still think they should move it away from the Sex And the City Sequel in order to actually make a dime off of it.

Meh. Her voicer over was really annoying in the trailer. Gave an unnecessary aroma of corn.

I like the way she looks though...

I wasn't a huge fan of her doing the voice over either but overall I still liked the trailer.
