Prince of Persia:The Sands of Time

So basically its OK for Dastan to be white since in the video games he's a white caucasian that was abandoned or something maybe during the crusades.

the character in both SOT and Warrior Within just looks like a tan white guy

So, I just watched the trailer and Lordy....it has Ben Kingsley as a quasi-Arabian guy with a goatee, looking sinister.

This will not be a very good movie.
It looks like it's based on a video game or something.

You need to put extra force behind it when it's in writing.

And twice as much force when here on SHH.

I know there was a graphical update of the original PoP on Live Arcade....does anyone know if Sands of Time is available in there??

Dunno.

I still own my hardcopy. They still sell it, probably a lower price in gamestores too.

Guranteed they will release it, if it hasn't been yet.

EDIT: I checked Xbox Live and don't see it on there. So, I guess it's not on Xbox On Demand.

I guess you can forget about that. I don't think they used any CGI for this movie.

!!

Oh yeah, sarcasm is not really understandable on the internet, I forgot.

To me rashad just seemed to be playing along. Which I guess would make your response kind of ironic.

Unless he was serious, in which case I guess I have to agree that sarcasm isn't really understandable on the internet. :o

Time will tell..

Resident Evil only did between $100m & $150m worldwide in each of its films.
Hitman did $100m worldwide & Max Payne did only did $85m.

I think it will be very lucky to outperform these films nevermind a billion dollar one :D

Prince of Persia will have a much wider appeal those movies you listed B.

Really? Resident Evil and Hitman were both rated R, something that puts a fairly big dent in total gross for any movie. Not to mention that all of these films had horrible reviews.

PoP has a much wider appeal, being in the same kind of Indiana Jones/POTC adventure type story, one that won't be rated R, both of which are going to draw much bigger crowds.

Not to mention that if it gets better reviews than the above-mentioned movies (not something too hard to achieve given the critical response to the films you've mentioned) it's going to do better.

So I would say that I would be surprised if it doesn't out-perform those movies.

I completely agree. The scope of this movie is huge. This movie will appeal to so many people across the board. The gamers, the Jake fans (women), the general action film fan, the teen demographic...I could keep going on and on..

POP will make more. Why? It PG-13 Raiders/The Mummy/POTC like adventure with stunning visuals and great looking people. Hitman and Resident Evil are rated R and crappy.
