Yeah an Indy prequel about the significance of the small golden bust. Who was it, why was it displayed in such a fashion yet had so many boobytraps.

They are really hyping up this movie huh?

When was the last time there was a daily day countdown for a trailer to something not many people know about?

Because lets face it...right now...the general public does not know/nor care for this movie. They will though, they will.

well the trailer got me excited, so looking forward to it

Isn't he involved in the new Blade Runner?

New Blade Runner?

Even if Scott's involved, I'm against it. The "tears in rain" scene will never be properly emulated. That scene is pure magic.

Its weird but I remember seeing a shot in the first bootleg where a woman in a table screamed while her belly suddenly bulged . That shot its not in this version it seems. Since we're not gonna see the classic xeno, I wonder what kind of xenomorph will we see in this one, maybe one that's less humanoid?

I don't think he's involved with the Blade Runner project in any way.

I just saw a trailer for the trailer. Is there a word for self-hyping?

3 trailers, hyping a trailer.

Guys, I'm gonna be a debbie downer.

I know, I know. I'm not trolling, I swear.

Ridley Scott, only a few years ago, said that sci fi was as dead as the western. He has Oscar success with Gladiator, a period epic. He tries to emulate that success with Robin Hood. Fails miserably. The filming was plagued by constant script changes and the film was panned and dissed to high heaven. I didn't even think Gladiator was THAT good. It's good, but certainly no Blade Runner. Scott, to me, like SO many older directors, seems like a man who's best days are behind him.

So, Ridley's lost his desire to chase Oscars, and now wants to return to the past glory he has had in the sci fi genre. In the same way Robin Hood tried to copy the success of Gladiator, so is Prometheus trying to copy the same success as Alien. It's a prequel, its got the same basic formula and atmosphere. I see the whole thing as quite a cynical move by someone trying to re-live past glory.

I don't see any cynicism at all. In fact I totally agree with what someone said earlier in the thread, that Ridley seems genuinely enthusiastic about Prometheus, and enthusiasm isn't something I've seen from in a very long time.

He isn't remaking blade runner. A sequel is being made.

Agreed.

So, what part of the internet do I find this magnificient trailer in? :cwink:

Oh come on!! A teaser of a teaser of a teaser?

RELEASE THE TRAILER!

Well that's certainly not as bad as a remake. But I still think Blade Runner is a sci-fi classic that should stand alone.

Sorry for getting a bit off topic with this, I am pumped for Prometheus! :woot:

What time exactly is the trailer supposed to be online?

Goddamn, no trailer with Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Other than TDKR, I am soooo freakishly giddy and excited over this film.

Great actors, awesome plot, stellar SFX/CGI, and a high caliber director at the helm. Sounds a like killer formula to me.

Agreed. Me and my friend have been watching Alien on blu ray today, and all the features, then we moved on to Aliens and all its features and stopped. But watching Ridley talk about Blade Runner/Alien in the making of extras you can tell the man has a deep rooted passion for sci-fi. And at the end of the Alien features he did in 2002 or what have you, he said he won't do another one until he has a great script. It gave me goosebumps.

EDIT: To Doctor Jones same thing happened to me, I enjoyed Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but I was so wanting to see the trailer for Prometheus, and nothing. Made me mad lol.

Man, that's an abbreviated and VERY selective view of Ridley Scott's career.

Some of Scott's *best* work came after Gladiator. Black Hawk Down? Hannibal? Kingdom of Heaven? American Gangster? Hell, these were some of his *biggest* box office draws. And guess what? This supposedly maligned Robin Hood is, in fact, the 5th highest grossing Ridley Scott movie of all time, behind Gladiator, Hannibal, American Gangster and Black Hawk Down, in that order. (For reference: Alien is #6 in b.o. for Ridley, and Blade Runner is #13.)

This has nothing to do with "reliving past glory." It has to do with Ridley Scott finding a great story, and being very selective in his projects.

I'm happy you enjoyed Girl With The Dragon Tattoo more than me. I wish I could have enjoyed it. :csad:

Was your theater a Cinemark? It's weird, because usually they play the latest trailers like they did with TDKR.
