Prometheus - Part 5

That worm thing obviously has a Xenomorph-esque head, so I'm guessing it "infects" a person and somehow, through the combination of DNA or whatever, we move closer to the traditional Xenomorph?

My question is how does the squid baby thing tie in?

I don't think Vickers will be an android. I originally did, but i saw an interview where she says as the movie goes on she becomes more human, whereas at the start she is very cold and stand-offish.

Could this crewmember be our mutated crew member?

The mutant has a similar haircut

All I can say is... this movie had better be really, REALLY good because the buzz around it seems insane and it looks like everyone wants to crown it as the next great sci-fi/horror masterpiece.

All I'm saying is... as great of a director as Scott can be and as good as this looks... be wary of getting your hopes up so high that there's no way you won't be disappointed. I know that can be difficult to do, but it's often worth it. We all get amped up about something or another, but having astronomical expectations about something often leads to an underwhelming experience, unfortunately.

Yeah. Honestly, that is why I think so many people came down so hard on SM3. Some people were calling it the worst CB movie of all time, which is laughable when you think about it. But I think it's very fair to call it one of the most disappointing comic book films of all time, because the hype for that sucker was huge.

Honestly, the only film that's lived up to the hype for me was TDK. It's the only film I let myself get massively hyped for, and I was lucky enough to not be disappointed. But I've tried to avoid getting that excited for any movie since, because I recognized how lucky I was in that respect.

The hype wasn't SM3's problem. I saw SM3 again not too long ago, and it's really just not very good, even with lowered expectations. There are so many parts of that movie that are so cringe-worthy.

That said, I do agree that the hype more often than not can lead to disappointment. But when movies actually do live up to the hype (like TDK, SM2 and Iron Man did for me), it just makes the experience that much sweeter.

vickers is human, the whole point is to make her seem like an android. Ridley is trying to show you that androids are at times more human than humans.

I don't remember there being alot of hype for Spider-Man 3. No more hype than the averages super blockbuster from what I recall.

Prometheus has some hype but people are still unsure what to expect from the movie. Even if it is very successful you can expect a huge backlash as that seems to be the thing these days.

Oh, I agree that SM3 was a very mediocre film, but the reason so many vehemently hated it was because it had ridiculous hype. I'm not a Raimi fanboy by any means (I actually have never really liked SM2) But to say the movie is one of the worst comic book films ever made is ridiculous. It's not even close (because there are some truly horrid ones out there). The reason so many people were overreacting like that was because it had massive hype.

I'm talking more fanboy-related. Because the fanboys were also the ones that panned it so harshly. The general audience was pretty much "meh" about it. They didn't love it, they didn't hate it, they just thought it was whatever. And the fan hype was ridiculous, especially on here leading up to the film. It's why people still joke about the "whats in his eye!??" in the costume threads and all that.

Honestly, the only film that's garnered huge hype on a cultural level has been TDK, and that had a lot to do with extenuating circumstances.

I have a feeling that this will be the "Inception" of 2012.

Oh s*** that is her from Game of Thrones. lol

Yea the sister with the annoying kid who is obviously too old for breastfeeding!

As long as she keeps it away from her kids, pot smoking MILF's are A-OK with me.

Not a fan of the pot culture at all and find it a turn off in a woman.

Does anyone know about this:

It seems like the thing in the trailer we see for a split second that goes inside the suit.

Also, based off this:

Where is that artwork from?

Is there any more of those character articles out there?!

I saw the new trailer for Prometheus in 3D and it looks fantastic.

I actually disagree. This is a pretty good scene. If you play it at original speed and have the atmospheric music in the background it is quite effective. Not to mention it makes the scene very creepy given that the film had strong themes about rape and violent sex. It has been confirmed that Lambert was raped by the alien and as you can see its tail is up and erect, very much like a penis. Quite a disturbing image if you take the entire context of the scene

Nah, I think if you played it at normal speed it'd look even more awkward and shambling.
Plus, when was it ever confirmed Lambert was raped? That's pure speculation.

Hilarious that Alex Jones knows so much about the script of this film. :)

But it makes sense, and Weyland definitely comes off as an Illuminati. This also feeds into the rumors we've heard about crewmembers literally turning into Space Jockeys....hell, maybe baddies like Weyland and Vickers are trying to achieve godhood, or even use David 9 to attain that goal or something.

On the subject of Alex Jones, has he ever done a show about the Assassins' Creed game series? It's chock full of Illuminati type concepts, with the Abstergo Corporation having a lot of similarities to Weyland-Yutani. Alex would especially likely be interested in the upcoming installment, Assassins' Creed 3, which is set in the American Revolution and features the Founding Fathers.
