Prometheus - Part 5

True.

However, the idea of mental/vocal/physical manipulation/communication is nothing new, considering the ending Scott originally envisioned for Alien/

I had never heard about this and just googled it. What a trippy idea. Glad it wasn't used but I wish it had been filmed so I could see it.

Just something funny...when the trailer was showing before The Hunger Games a guy behind me says to one of his friends "That looks really stressful. I hate sci-fi"

sigh...

Fortunately, not ALL of the original Alien's ideas wound up on screen. Much as we'd all probably like to believe every idea was great, well...

There's stuff like this that proves otherwise...

If he hates sci-fi, why is he going to see Hunger Games. Isn't that basically a sci-fi movie?

Please children, scooch closer, don’t make me tell you again about the scootching! You in the red, chop chop!

lol, what the hell? It's actually one of those things that you think may be a cool, creepy idea until you physically see it. I guess they were still at a stage where they were discovering exactly what the xenomorph was.

hahaha brilliant reference! Well played, well played.

And yea, the "schooching" xenomorph? That's actually... kinda ****ing creepy when you consider it's "scooching" up to her with the intent to rape.

Where is this from? Is it one of the deleted footages of the first Alien movie?

As goofy as that looks, it is out of context. Darken lighting, slow down the xenomorph's movement, crop in closer, add aforeboding score and it would have looked better.

It's best they cut it, though, cause it would have revealed too much of the Alien. Best that they saved that for the shuttle with Ripley like they decided to do.

Wow....could they make the phallic symbolism any more blatant....?

...I take that back: symbolism, hell. That's just a phallus, period.

I actually disagree. This is a pretty good scene. If you play it at original speed and have the atmospheric music in the background it is quite effective. Not to mention it makes the scene very creepy given that the film had strong themes about rape and violent sex. It has been confirmed that Lambert was raped by the alien and as you can see its tail is up and erect, very much like a penis. Quite a disturbing image if you take the entire context of the scene

Here's a better look that I made

Could it be that the squid has entered her suit (perhaps her body also) in she's in shock of that? The squid has paralyzed her...

Also a possible option. Though it may be fear too.

Looks like a spell has been cast on her. What level Mage is the Space Jockey anyways? That looks like an 8th lvl spell at least.

Found it.

Apparently, some folks online seem to think that Shaw
has given birth to this creature

IMO, it doesn't look like it's attacking her, it looks like it's suspended and writhing on some sort of clamp or claw.
Another thing.

International trailer shows her POV at the start of this scene (at 2:08 in the trailer).

WonderCon Exclusive (Imax) trailer shows another part (close-up) of this scene (at 1:01).
I don't how fast that beast can grow, but could the scene at 0:38 of the wondercon exclusive be the aftermath of this birth scene? Where she looks through the window into a blood covered room and then suddenly a tail or something splashes against the window?

I can't make animated gifs of that scene to show it.

Looks kind of like a hybrid of a squid and those slug things from dreamcatcher.

I made the mistake of venturing over the the IMDb boards.

They are really flipping their **** over the possibility/likelihood of this being PG-13.

Half of them are just trolling for the lulz. I know a few of them.

Chralize is a Mom and a pothead? :(

As long as she keeps it away from her kids, pot smoking MILF's are A-OK with me.

Does anyone know about this:

It seems like the thing in the trailer we see for a split second that goes inside the suit.

Also, based off this:

Part of me thinks that David is going to be more of a Bishop-styled android. Meaning, he's not a dick like Ash was in Alien.

Part of me thinks that Charlize Theron’s character, Vickers, is an android too. There’s a lot of speculation that she is because she represents Weyland and is basically a very “robotic” character, if that makes any sense. There is also speculation that Vickers is Weyland himself, but only in the way that his brain waves were implanted on a chip and stored inside of Vickers memory, thus giving Peter Weyland a new body to live in and experience the trip first hand etc etc.

Every one thinks that David 9 is the evil android, but I don’t. I think he’s going to be the “Bishop” (Aliens) android that saves the crew or at least tries to, and Vickers is going to be a more Ash-based android. I mean, it’d make sense, because David was a special project for Weyland, so maybe David has his own personal advanced AI?
