Surprisingly, this is the identical response (criticisms) that Black Hawk Down and Kingdom of Heaven received during their tenures. Since then though, critics have revisited their opinions (upon multiple viewings throughout the years). Perhaps Prometheus will follow that same trend.

Scott had to fix Kingdom of Heaven first. The director's Cut is one of his best. The theatrical cut is a bore, with hollow characters who seem to do things just to do them. He had to add 45 mins to fix it.

it's kind of a Proto- Xenomorph, my advice is to forget about expecting to see the creatures fron Alien and Aliens in this

I think, even though it was quite large, that it was at the beginning of its' life cycle. When it opens its' mouth (s) at the end, it is very reminiscent of the traditional xenomorph and as it matures, I think it will be very similar to the xenomorphs we are familiar with (albeit much larger).

Just my musings, but I think had the giant facehugger impregnated a human rather than the engineer, we would have seen our traditional xenomorph.

Same here man. This is going to be my first ever IMAX experience as well, so that makes me even more pumped!

I'm seeing it in a regular theatre (a rather large one though). I've been waiting for this one for a while so that's got me pretty excited. I've pretty much removed the notion that this is an Alien prequel so that should help :p

Seeing this tomorrow afternoon at the BFi IMAX.
Can't wait!

I loved it. It looks absolutely amazing.

I'll be seeing this over the weekend, and I'm super excited. I can't wait to see the Space Jokey in action. I was always interested in their story since Alien, and their connection with the xeno's.

Can't wait to see it...I hope the film is awesome enough to keep me from being dissapointed in that fact there are no xenomorphs.

It wouldn't surprise me if they added an extra 20-40 minutes to this film, overall it would be fine.

I liked the film as it is, even though I can understand why some people aren't as happy with the final film. However, I would love if it it did turn out there was a chunk cut from the film that, if added back in, would make the film flow better.

I mean it did feel at times they had cut something out that would have made things run together a little better than they did. I'm probably wrong, but it wouldn't be the first film I've seen with cut scenes, it didn't flow together right, some scenes were re-added and it worked better.

For those that have seen it in 3D. did anyone else find the part where [BLACKOUT]the engineers ship is plummeting back towards Shaw and Vickers really underwhelming? I expected that to be the 3D highlight.[/BLACKOUT]

I think the best use of the 3d was the scene [BLACKOUT]in the map room with David[/BLACKOUT]

My favourite characters were Captain Janek, David and Fifield.

That scene was absolute beauty overall. Great visual-effects, awesome acting by Fass and the gorgeous "Life" theme playing over it. :hrt:

Yes that was one of the better scenes in the movie.

Yeah. It was glanced over. Always roll sideways, people should know that by now.

The 3D had alot of depth but not alot of pop. Was fantastic tho.

I asked before but I totally didn't notice if the theme used in the trailer was used in the film..just didn't notice it..heard hints but never the full thing.

Oh cool, had no idea it was filmed in 3d. Guess that's how I'll be seeing in then. Thanks!

I was lucky and got the chance to see this. I thought it was pretty well done overall.
