Cant believe this movie is upto over $340 million WW now, dont know were it opened but it has made nearly $40 million more in the last few weeks abroad. Should get to $350 million easily, all good news for a sequel.

I sorry, but where does it say they're bankrupt? All I see is info that they've been working on like half of every major blockbuster this side of 2006.

Reg, it's 2012, intelligence is not a fair expectation to have of people.

Please excuse me the "roll eyes" symbol. There has never been an instance of an argument being strengthened by its use.

My point is that, if the effects house had been contracted by Fox to provide its services, then Fox would be obliged to pay the money owed, unless the effects house had assented to a contract that contained some sort of iniquitous clause that allowed Fox to void its liability.

I am certainly not saying that Fox is right; what I am saying is that the effects house does not need trade union protection in this case, because adequate protection is already afforded to it by civil law- unless it has wavered that protection by forming an unfavourable contract.

its that simple right? everyone needs to pay and everyone pays right?

If Fox don't pay the company the money that they owe to it, then they are guilty of the civil wrong of breach of contract, and they can be sued for a lot more money then they originally owed.

Fox might be that brazen, but I doubt it is that stupid. I expect that they had formed a contract with the effects house that was terminable whenever they chose.

That isn't any "better" or more moral, but my point is that the effects house would be better served by a better lawyer, rather than by a trade union.

Fuel VFX says it has suffered from a slowdown in local work within Australia and the strength of the Australian dollar, which makes it uncompetitive when tendering for Hollywood work.

These are the main reasons VFX gone bust

So dark_b was wrong in like every way possible then?

This seems like a case of not reading the fine print.

you think they will admit that it was prometheus that destroyed them? i am beliving what artist who f... worked for the company said.

No mention of their work going unpaid. I expect their overheads were too high.

aha so the dvd has the boring deleted scenes hehehehe.

Can't remember all of it, but I think most of those scenes were in my screening.

10 minutes of deleted scenes video from the DVD are now online (in that link above). Another 20 minutes of deleted stuff will be on the Blu-ray, but that has yet to be leaked

Just watched them. Wish they had left the scene of the scientists finding the shed skin in the film.

I watched the 10 minutes of deleted scenes.

I liked the Shaw and Holloway scene and the extended scene between Vickers and Weyland.

Holloway is even more of a *****e than before. It was nice to hear Vickers actually acknowledge the alien octupus in the next room.

Idris Elba's southern accent is terrible in these deleted scenes it sounds like he isn't even trying sometimes.

Shaw's dialogue between her and holloway is great because it sheds more light on their conflicting ideologies (he, the scientist, and she, the religious woman). It also really fleshes out Shaw's past as well.
