Possible Prometheus Trailer Description
http://www.prometheus-movie.com/news/62
Following our post yesterday regarding Christopher Duvall's Twitter posts about the previewing of the Prometheus movie trailer, he (Chris) joined up here on Prometheus-Movie.com to share the full scoop on what he saw in that theatre with us. This was his original comment which he made to yesterday's article:

"Had to join to to comment on this. I am the Chris that saw the trailer. I run a theatre in the Denver area and my theatre has Nielson kiosks in the lobby for surveys of upcoming titles. They told me that they had few different trailer for various movies, but when they said PROMETHEUS, I said I must see the trailer. It was nearly 2 minutes long and looked fairly polished and complete. It was using a temp track for music and the trailer was VERY similar to the original teaser for ALIEN the way is was cut together. Quick shot after another. Had a couple a lines of dialog I think but is was hard to hear since my lobby was a bit noisy.

The planet they showed in the trailer looked nothing like original one where the derelict was crashed. It was sunny and desert like in appearance. The space suits the characters were wearing were VERY similar to the original suits worn by the crew of the Nostromo. The interior shots of their ship looked clean and not used like the the NOSTROMO did. It was all new and shiny looking. I did not see an exterior shot of the derelict ship but there were some really quick shots of the inside like the jockey, another room that looked like were the jockey was but without it, the room with the eggs but there were no eggs in it. There were some quick shots of the crew walking in the same "halls" that Kane and Dallas walked in as well in the derelict ship. But these things were hitting the screen so fast, it was hard to process all the information. Some of the crew look were in medical/cryo-tubes with something moving in their abdomens not their chests. Their eyes also appeared to be completely black and the faces altered I think. The end of the trailer ended with the title forming much like the ALIEN title did in the original movie at the top of the screen.

However, there were no mentions of the original movie at all. No Giger aliens, no eggs, nothing at all to pin this being a prequel. It just "looks" like it was from that universe.

I really need to see the trailer again and I will try to take a photo of the trailer when the Nielson people are not looking.

From what I am gathering in the trailer so far, the Giger aliens will probably not be making an appearance until the very end. There seems to be some other threat going on. Then again...I could be WAY off too. I am back at my theatre on Tuesday and I will see what I can dig up." -Chris Duvall

When can we expect to see this?! My body is ready!

Cranking up my Alien deluxe soundtrack this morning. Getting myself in the mood.

^ Nice. I will never understand the suppression of advertising materials. I understand entirely if it was chunks of the movie or script leaking but the very trailer your planning on putting out anyways? Doesn't make sense.

I'm not following your puzzlement. By your logic, they wouldn't suppress anything related to the movie as it is all planned to be put out anyway. Their move is perfectly understandable. They want to release their footage on their terms. They would rather it be seen as it is intended, not spoiled through lengthy descriptions.

Theres a difference between descriptions of leaked footage and descriptions of trailers that they are actually already showing people. And what good did shutting down his blog and such do? Its already out in various other places. Its wasted effort in my opinion.

For those sites running the Prometheus trailer description: For what its worth, Fox sources say no trailer has even been cut at this point.

If no trailer has even been cut at this point, WHY THE HELL DID FOX MAKE THAT GUY TAKE DOWN THE DESCRIPTION?!?!? :cmad:

I call b.s.

Fox also said the final Wolverine movie would be vastly different from the leaked version.

It wasn't. It was just as godawful.

Just with finalized effects. :o

Whenever a studio claims something that was leaked is incomplete and that the final cut is "vastly different" I think it's just spin control. Wolverine was not vastly different from what I heard but it also didn't surprise me to hear that either. I did not watch the leaked version so I have no idea if it was or not.

Thats being awfully generous saying its effects were finished

Noomi Rapace gives more insight to Elizabeth Shaw

Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten spoke to Prometheus star Noomi Rapace, who's currently in Norway plugging her latest movie, 'Babycall'.

The newspaper says Rapace is not at liberty to talk too much about Prometheus, but she did give a little more insight into her character, Elizabeth Shaw:

"I play Elizabeth Shaw, researcher and archaeologist. She's British but was raised in Africa because her father was a missionary. From him she learned to believe in God, and she has a strong inner self.

She is the most complete person I have ever played. She has an inner light. She's very stubborn and determined.

She lost her parents when she was a child, so she's been alone from a young age. But she's very intelligent. I know that when a one has to survive alone from an early age, one becomes strong.

But also fragile, because the hurt child within her hasn't been able to evolve in a natural way. You get easily hurt emotionally. She's full of hope, a dreamer, a little naive.

Halfway through the movie a lot of things happen and she turns into a fighter. Another part of her comes to life"

Aftenposten says her character sounds like she has a lot in common with the mother of all action heroines, Ellen Ripley:

"Yes, absolutely! There is a relationship there. I saw 'Alien' as a teenager and was blown away. Can it really be like that? She was the first female star. With 'Alien' and 'Thelma and Loise', Ridley has created a lot of hope and dreams"

Interesting interview with Rapace. I guess her reactions to the revelation about mankinds origin will be a big part of the story, seeing as she says her character is religious and believes in God.

haha there is some guy on that forum who is laughable. He is moaning that Scott is using too much practical effects and not enough CGI... using the Star Wars prequels as examples of great, realistic CGI work...
