Pyro vs Iceman: Why Pyro should have won

While under Iceman's protective form, it gave me the impression that Bobby could potentially withstand any kind of fire that Pyro threw at him,..Technially, Bobby would've had to absorb alot of heat to get into his ice form anyway...

absorb? don't you mean give off a lot of heat?

pyro's far more advanced with his abilities than bobby who showed really no imagination with his powers since his very first scene where he makes an ice rose for rogue.

And Pyro does have imagination?

He was nothing more than a walking flamethrower in X3. At least Bobby made a ice wall and didn't just freeze things.

and bobby was nothing more than really than john's bizzaro.

bobby didn't even freeze anyone in the final battle (if i recall) and his finishing move was a headbutt.

Doesn't change the fact that Pyro did less than Bobby.

All Pyro did was to shoot fire in a straight line setting things on fire. While Bobby did the same by freezing a rocket and a car, he also build a wall out of ice. That's one more feat than Pyro did.

Final battle when the Mutants were charging at the X-Men. He let them run into a wall of ice.

No. Because it didn't utilize his powers in a different way, he still just shot fire in a straight line. And without Magneto he wouldn't have been able to pull it off anyway.

I believe Pyro and Bobby could have done more with their powers. Pyro increasing the volume of his fire to burn the entire Alzatraz facility. Bobby merging with theat body over water to freeze the entire facility.

wouldn't you say pyro's car bombs were imaginative?

Well ther weren't really his bombs, but the combo between him and magneto was good.

I thought it showed mutual teamwork. Like a partner rather than a side-kick

Wha???? Bobby's pond freezing and ice skate making was far more imaginative than anything Pyro did, and thats pretty SAD.:)

Yeah. He did show more creative ways with his powers than Pyro.

Cause during the fight there was fire all over the place. He can Manipulate flame. Every one of those tiny fires should have risen and shot at Iceman.

Oh plus Fire Melts Ice....I've never seen Ice Repel Fire before. But that's not my Argument.

I think Pyro should have used all of the fire that was around him.
Hehe...you are so right! I've thought of that...

Both were really underused in this Movie. Especially Pyro, all the crazy creatures he could've pulled off and they reduced him to simple flame throwing.

Exactly, and what would it take for us to see iceman use the ice slide in the movies?????

I wish Pyro would've done something like this in the Movie.

Where did u get that? I'd like one of Storm using her powers on that episode. That is "The day of reckoning" isn't it?

I really wished X3 explored Pyro's motivation for being with Magneto. I'm sorry but Pyro had more depth in X2 than in X3, and he didn't need a lot of screentime to explore it (Like when Pyro looked at Bobby's family pictures in X2).

Here, he's Mr. Evil Bad Guy Man. Straight on evil with no remorse. I didn't buy it.

And his 'battle' with Iceman was underwhelming. I was expecting much more and it felt very forced..

The reason behind Bobby being a level Omega mutant is because his real power is not the Ice, According to the laws of thermodynamics, cold is defined as the absence of heat. Therefore, Iceman does not actually emanate cold, but rather absorbs and dispels heat. Since heat is energy, Iceman's power then becomes a psionic ability to manipulate energy. He is able to temporarily add the mass of a body of water to his own to increase his mass, size and physical power. His strength and durability in his ice-form are enhanced beyond normal human levels. He can survive not only as sentient ice but as sentient water and vapor. He has the capacity to manipulate all forms of moisture. Writers have implied that Iceman's lack of personal initiative has prevented him from discovering the deeper facets of his abilities and has led him instead to focus only on what might be the easiest manifestation of his abilities, the creation of ice. Pyro does not stand a chance against Iceman, when he is in Ice Form, his body is at -105 Farenheit, he absorbs and dispeles pyros flames within a thent of a second so technically, when in Ice form, Pyro's flames dont touch his body, so in the movie, Bobby got to his Ice form and became inmune to heat. Sorry Pyro Lovers but Ice man can defeat Pyro any given sunday with no problem. Sunfire is way, WAY more powerful than Pyro and he couldnt defeat Bobby eaither.

He can't give off heat if he doesn't absorb it first..

Ah, a man after my own heart.... Another Iceman fan. I agree with you on a lot of what you were saying, although I do believe Iceman's freezing abilities have far exceeded well below -105 degrees. And not to get too far into the comic book Iceman, but it seems like a big waste for these movies not to exploit the comic book verisons, or at least a portion of those versions and bring them to life onscreen. We all know Bobby is capable of far greater feats, but in this fight him falling to his knees was too melodramatic and cliche'd.
