Isn't it great how people started hating on the first two films just because they didn't care for Spider-Man 3?
Before Spidey 3, I got the impression that the fans unanimously agreed that Spider-Man 1 and 2 are not only fantastic comic book films, but also fantastic films, period. Since Spider-Man 3 was less than perfect, I've noticed that more and more people are disliking the first two films, which makes no sense to me. I mean, you all can like what you want to like, but I couldn't help but notice ...
In my opinion, Sam Raimi made two amazing films, and one good film. That's why I want him to return for at least one more movie.
Anyone think that maybe Raimi wouldn't be so eager to come back if Spidey 3 wasn't so hated? Maybe he wants to put the haters to bed![]()
My brother and I were talking about this. SM3 made like 800 million dollars. Why come back?
To prove that Spidey 3's bad rep was the exception and not the rule maybe?
Too true. I enjoyed Batman Begins as much as the next fan, but it certainly has cursed us all with that dreaded word.
To who?
Himself? He made two excellent, well-recieved films. No other comic director can say this. X-1 was a nice try, but most would say that Singer's X2 was the only great x-men film. TDK isn't out yet
To the GA?
800mill means a lot of people liked it.
To Comicfans?
They are the only people complaining, which makes it a little egocentric to need to please us to such an extent.
new director and actors please.
raimi had his chance and he blew it with Spidey 3 - it could have been a perfect trilogy, but instead we got 2 1/2, much like x-men
only reason why was because SM1 and SM2 were awesome, but im sure at least 60 to 70% of the people didn't like at much as the first two, even my dad was pissed off lolTo the GA?

I hate this attitude, too.
It's like the director is only as good as his/her last movie. Like they aren't humans who make mistakes.
Movies turn out badly for a lot of reasons. Raimi should have built up enough cred with the comicfan community.
^ I agree with the end sentiment but disagree that a director should be judged by how good or bad their latest film is (which is all subjective anyway) and not by their body of work. I liked SM3, but agree it is heavily flawed and not up to snuff with the others. However, I also look at Raimi's resume and most of the movies he has made are good (though few are great). That's a solid resume and to write the man off because you disliked SM3 and think he cannot do anymore is a bad argument IF you liked the first two.
Now if you want fresh blood and change with new ideas, again I can see where your coming from and at least partially agree. But the logic that Raimi can't do anymore because he sucks simply based on SM3 just doesn't gel.
Holy hell, you have no idea what you're talking about.
So you wanted the movies to constantly reuse the same villain, using amnesia (a plot device that people *****ed about in SM3) on a regular basis as a means of justifying Norman constantly changing from good guy to bad guy?
Jeez, talk about a total lack of creativity.
agreedWhat if the film fails though? We're better off with Sam, IMO.
"he blew his only chance" with SM3,k you say? You write you liked the first two movies...but think he is a bad choice and ****ed up because you didn't like one of his three efforts?
Never expect much logic in these arguments, but still.
All i'm saying is they shouldn't have killed him off in the first movie. They could have had him around in SM2 as a background character (as Norman) with inkling's of the 'GG' in him starting to surface. Sure that would have eliminated Harry's journey to the dark-side, but that also, could have been done better.
Golgo-13 said:When he made Sandman Uncle Ben's killer, that really did it for me. He ****ed with a perfectly well rounded story arc, that had Spidey catching Uncle Ben's killer in SM1. But then he had to go and mess with it.If something aint' broke, don't fix it.
Golgo-13 said:Shame on him.
Yeah, and people thinking S-M3 was bad is just an opinion. Just like how I think Spider-Man 3 was amazing is just an opinion. I also think that a reboot is a horrible idea for a Spidey film. I really don't know what the big thing is with a reboot. Just because a certain amount of people didn't like Spidey3? That's not a good reason at all.agreed
Spidey is in no freakin' need of a reboot. just because SM3 supposedly wasn't that good of a film doesn't mean a future movie can't do better.
ppl need to stop complaining and get over it.
just ignore those people, they're just wasting their time thinking about that. There's no way they'll have a reboot, especially after all that money all three films madeYeah, and people thinking S-M3 was bad is just an opinion. The ending was meant for the story to be left open. Sam said it himself and I can completely understand why.well when you think about it, the ending to SM3 does not really feel like a good ending to a movie series. I think we should get another.
obviously it's not since Sony already said it's going have 4,5, and 6well when you think about it, the ending to SM3 does not really feel like a good ending to a movie series. I think we should get another.
