Rank 'em: Worst SV Eps of All Time

yeah, I remember some people who were crying during graduation and I had a big grin on my face. I really am happier in college now.

I loved heading to college. **** school.

If you remember in that episode, that whacked guy didnt get into College and that's why he wanted to keep High School going Forever.

^ OK any ep that produces that lovely pic can't be that bad, Facade isn't horrible at all:)

LOL! :woot:

I'm sure you did, but did you check out the size of his biceps in that pic. :wow: :cwink:

Someday I will create a hype replica and keep everyone there:ninja:

I also was not impressed by the incredibly lazy set designers, who pretty much didn't even move a candle or picture frame to show the Kents farm 20 years ago.

That's actually not true.

Here's a set of pictures from the two different time lines. Different curtains at the windows.

These two - different coloured kettle on the stove.

And I'm sure there's more if you look around. :cwink:

Yeah, I don't think they're lazy... just pressed for time and money.

Although, in thinking about it...

Didn't Clark say sometime in the past that his dad had built the loft for him? Hadn't Lara been up in the loft?

Ooops.

Lest we forget: Meteor shower...."Commencement"....destroyed the house....

well the show has a budget, so I never expected them to change the house completely for one scene. I didn't even think about comparing the house at different times. Every show has plot holes. It's impossible not to have one, IMO. I just care about the overall plot.

I've seen "Subterranean" and don't think it's as bad as people are making it out to be. I thought it was about time that they tackled illegal immigration in the show considering Clark is the biggest immigrant there is and that Martha is a Senator so they would naturally use some political issues. It was good to see both sides of the debate and Clark learned that he can't solve all of the world's problems even if he has powers. Plus, the ending scene with Lex walking out of 33.1 was fantastic. The music was used perfectly.

I had to look up my old review to remember why I didn't "hate" this episode - 2 main reasons: Clark in almost every scene, and the closing Lexian strut.

I honestly think that if they'd had a different actor playing Javier, it would have made a big difference in how this episode was received.

That "Lexian strut" made the episode for me. The look on his face says everything. He's a badass pimp.

In the end, all I really know is that this entire plot element of Lara/the picture/the portal is completely unnecessary and only further tarnishes the show's continuity issues. For my money, a lot of the show's problems seem to stem from something that appears to be lacking in the writer's room: a Why Guy.

When the Smallville writers get together to discuss the latest story ideas, someone needs to be in the room at all times to ask "Why?" when anyone proposes a new idea. That way, hard thought is put into whatever is proposed.

For example:

Writer: "Okay, so I went to bed last night, and when I woke up I had this great idea. What if......wait for it......what if Lara visited the Kent farm before Clark was ever born.....and, get this.....actually left a Polaroid of herself for Clark to find on a table."

Why Guy: "Hmm.....okay. But.....why?"

Writer: "Wait, what do you mean?"

Why Guy: "Well, why? Why do we even need to go that route?"

Writer: "Well......um.....I thought it'd.....I thought it would.......errrr....I don't really know. :("

Ooops.

The actual loft was there in Lineage also. I think Jonathan just made it into a room for Clark.

You dont like the idea that Clark gets to find out more about his birth mother. :csad:

I loved the polaroid. And I especially loved Lara placing it behind a picture of Martha.

I'm sure they would have loved to have done a whole story of Lara on Krypton, but they've always said to do it right would be an expensive undertaking. It was much more feasible for them to bring Lara to Earth.

The polaroid was one of my favorite parts of that episode, actually.

I thought it was a nice touch, give him something tangible that his birth mother had touched and it was hidden behind a portrait of his adoptive mother.

It was sweet and had meaning for Clark.

Never said that. He had to meet Lara eventually. But this wasn't the way I would have liked for them to do it.

.....BEFORE the entire Kent House was demolished by a meteor in "Commencement". That's just really sloppy on their part for not remembering that.

True, but it wasn't totally destoyed....

*shrug*

I still liked it.

wasn't it still in the frame, but just behind Martha's photo? Even if that area was ruined, the photo frame could still have been in tact and not ruined. Oh, who am I kidding. Yes, the writers screwed the pooch on that one, but I forgive them. They're going through an uneasy time right now so I'll give them a free pass on episodes from "Lara" and on.

And I want to believe that, I really do. But.....

LOL!

Well, I could still buy a photo frame might have been okay.

I've seen people pull amazing suff from the ruins of buildings, even ones that have burned down.

It could have ended up beneath some of that lathe there...

Silly CMill - I think you just need to look a little closer.

Case closed. SV always makes perfect sense.

*whistling*

Priceless!

Dude, you get a cookie for that. I completely forgot about Commencement.

Screw the silly Polaroid... Would they still use the same stove? Would they buy the same wall decorations? Kitchen table? Light fixtures?

Pah! C'mon peeps!
