I think I enjoyed the Rogue One prequel novel Catalyst more than Rogue One. Kind of bummed about that.
In Rogue One, I liked a lot of the cinematography and planets/locations and aliens quite a bit, more than TFA even. And hey look a space battle (which was featured in marketing materials).
What didn't I love or like? So much else. The first act is disjointed skipping around to quickly set everything up, the last act drags (it does) and ends
The Jyn character was pretty one note: father father father father father father father father father father. Then later she sort oddly

in annihilation as every single new major character in the movie dies. They wash this down with the 'Member berries of Darth Vader and Princess Leia but I wasn't feeling it.
