Lets say its overall a more accurate costume and that ASM
Absolutely, that much is obvious and I can totally agree.
However, I don't always think "accurate" as it comes from hardcore fans resistant to any kind of change is really applicable for material that constantly sees nuanced changes in the aesthetics to characters.
As long as the core essence of a character's look is there (Superman's red / blue color scheme, red cape, S on chest ... Batman's black or black/grey color scheme, cape, cowl, and bat on chest ... Spider-Man red / blue color scheme, bug eye lenses, spider on chest, webbing detail on suit)
then really the rest should be open to interpretation. Because it is that way in the source material as well, from artist to artist, generation to generation, era to era. As long as the essence is accurate (which the ASM was) then you're golden. It's fresh and faithful. I felt the ASM suit was very exciting, and very contemporary. It worked visually, and also was a tool to separate the reboot franchise from Raimi's visually. That's a key part in marketing the new franchise.
it was a "hero in training" type costume. Perhaps the rubberized spandex material he used in the first film got way too hot inside and so when the Lizard thrashed it, he decided to just make a more lightweight fabric costume.
I would actually be more accepting of this explanation and the suit itself if it's actually given to us in the story of Amazing Spider-Man 2.
One of the best things Nolan did with Batman and his armor in between BEGINS and TDK was show a progression of it getting beat up, and then after the first act of the movie gave a plausible reason for a re-designed suit.
It wasn't like the sequel started and all of a sudden he had a different costume. I hate when they do that in all previous superhero movies. The change in look IMO should be explained or given reason.
I don't hate the new look for ASM 2, I just think it's confusing as a reboot franchise that they are literally using the EXACT same costume from Raimi's Spider-Man 2. Only difference is the wider, more bug like white eyes (which I like) ... and smaller raised black webbing as opposed to thicker raised silver webbing as was on the Raimi costume.
And I'm torn. On one end I really like the ASM suit, on the other this one is a little more "classic" (better word than accurate) ... I like the fact that unlike Raimi they won't be using a muscle suit beneath. Which made me never believe it was McGuire in the suit, and I'm more inclined to like Spidey's physique to be believable ... wiry strong and athletic as opposed to enhanced musculature.
We'll see how it looks on screen. I also didn't get the hate for the ASM boots (they actually looked applicable and durable, and not like elf boots or socks the way the more streamlined costumes do) ... or the texture of the suit, which looked believable in that he bought some Nike dri fit or Under Armor athletic clothes and turned it into a costume. I liked that idea, and I think the look of it really popped on screen.

agree (except for the gold eyes) this new layout (with the same glove and boot design as last time) with last times textures would have been perfect
TOTALLT agreed. That would've been a much better mending of the concepts of the costume, without looking like a direct derivative and copy of Raimi's SM 2 and SM 3 suit. I liked the gold eyes, but I like the bigger more bug like white eyes from this movie even better. It would keep the unique aspects of the ASM suit, while streamlining and making it feel more "classic"
