The trailer didn't show much of anything except that the tone will be depressing and over dramatic. Not how the F4 should be represented imo.
Was hoping to see something more then reaction shots of the players with sad music and narration. Visually the film looks fine for what was shown, though a bit too bleak imo for the material.

Really wanted to see what these talented actors are bringing to their roles, or just a hint at more powers after they have said they couldn't show anything for 5 moths because everything needed to be ready. A teaser like this should have been ready back in October.

Hope the next trailer shows more of what to expect of the characters.

Because it's a cheap rights grab. As of now we'll never see the FF faithfully represented on screen, and that understandably rubs a lot of fans the wrong way.

Because putting the Marvel logo infront of a film is not enough for me to like the film. I actually care about the characters and want to see them faithfully represented.

Otherwise I'd be raving about Daredevil, Elektra, XMO: Wolverine, and Punisher.

It's not weird at all when you stop and realize that Fox is giving us the FF film that literally no one wanted in a cheap attempt to hold onto the rights. That's it, that's the entire issue summarized in one sentence. It's fine if you don't agree, I hope you get what you want out of the film, but to pretend our negativity is completely unwarranted is a bit much.

And there's very good reason this one is more on the negative side imo, but to say all the others are joyous is far off. Look at all the unfair and shallow comments Ty Sheridan (who's had excellent roles) and Alexandra Shipp got when announced . The Spidey forums have not exactly been full of positivity for their upcoming films either.

Terrible trailer. The film might turn out good but the trailer was bad. No excitement, the voice over was bland it just seemed to be people walking down halls or sitting round a table.

4/10. Its not actively terrible, but it is aggressively mediocre and unoriginal. Every component feels like it was borrowed from some other movie, no good money shots, and without the title card you'd never realize its a FF movie.

Exactly. The gun to Marvel's head was bankruptcy and the possibility of loosing everything. Marvel didn't want to sell these characters, and if there was another option to save themselves back then I am sure they would have happilly explored it.

That doesn't make any sense because it would have been the same amount of work and money to make a reboot that was more in line with the original comics rather than the Ulimates storyline.

If they had done a movie that was faithful to the original storyline, it would still be a "cash grab" by your definition. So it really just comes down to the fact that a bunch of people are pissed that it isn't the 616 F4. It's still a somewhat faithful adaptation of a set of comics that was published. Full stop.
