Revealed Hulk will be ONE???ofthe villians in the Avengers

I hope they make some needed improvements on the Hulk's appearance for the Avengers! He needs to look much more like Kirby's Hulk!

I read the person Norton had the problem with is no longer involved with the studio , is that still referencing Letterier or is that someone else?

The person is not Leterrier and it never was.

Norton has said that he enjoyed working with Leterrier and would like to see him direct The Avengers but hopes that Marvel would give him more control compared to what Leterrier had when making The Incredible Hulk.

Kirby Hulk with a Gray Hulk Personna would be perfect.

I wish we got this.

which Buscema? John or Sal? neither is as iconic as Kirby!

that hulk would have been laughed out of theatres. also would have completely clashed stylistically with the other heroes in an avengers film.

Yeah but see that's just it they need to stop trying to make to Hulk look cool and stylized.HE IS A MONSTER not a Sal or John Bucema Monster but a Brute Looking Neantherthal Monster but instead we keep geting a good looking green guy.
I think that ruins the whole Mythos.

I don't know, one thing I've noticed after all these years of watching movies is that the least humanoid-looking CGI creatures are the ones who end up looking more realistic.

YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,
YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,
A thousand times YES!!!
I have been saying that from the beggining. The less humonoid he looks the more realistic he appears because you have nothing to compare it too.How would we know if he didn't look realistic as a neanthethal brute creature if we have never seen one!!!!

Did you see Golem in Lord of the Rings??Now did you see Arnold in Terminer 4?????And we are talking almost 10 years apart in CG years.

Just look at the New Clash of Titans film.Even in the original with stop motion capture Sinbad eye of the Tiger,Jason and the Agunaughts,Etc.Yeah they may be hokey and fake now (However I still love to watch them and it still makes no differance to me)but at the time all of those movies the monsters looked realistic .....Because they were monsters who knew if they were right or not. They moved weird but then that just added to the more reasoning with them being monsters. But in those old films the minute the monster grabbed a human to eat or kill him and they made the human in stop motion.I immediatly remember the image being lost and or broken. Why?because of how fake the human looked. Why because I know what the human was supposed to look like.

The more human he looks the more unrealistic he looks because we know what a human looks like and the feel of a human and movement of a human. That's why the Dinosaurs in Jurrastic Park looked so real.
Because we never seen a Dinosaur before to compare it too.Now compare that to the animals in Jumanji?Elephants and Monkeys and Rhinos all fake looking right. Why?Because they are all animals we have all seen before. It's just somthing we do in our minds automatically.
You sir are dead on it!!!!

and robots are even easier, doesn't matter they have to keep pushing to be accurate enough. it's the holy grail of CG. once they can do that right they can do anything. audiences need to emphasize with the hulk, even his inspiration frankenstein is humanoid enough and relatable. part of comics growing up from being disposable kids entertainment has been the modification of designs and character to allow deeper story telling. more nuanced expression that effects on subconscious levels. alot of us comic fans are more open to wildly varying styles but general audiences that marvel studios needs to survive have narrower tastes in general.

i am a fan of harryhausens stuff as well. loved the nod to it in the lord of the rings when the ents first move. i'd like to see something with a computer controlled puppet that's been key frame animated or better still motion captured. that'd be something to compare CG to. not for hulk tho he's too big.

Sal...and I think you'd be surprised at what most people would say when posed the question of whose version was more iconic.

Knew I could count on you CJ....

oh and did I mention that splash page is one of my "hulk grails"?

I knew there was a reason I liked you JJ. 227 is one of coolest TIH issues and that is my favorite pix of the Hulk. I would love to see that in a movie one day.

Right on....you simply can't beat issues 226 and 227.

you mean kinda like the design that was seen at like comicon?
Close.............

It looks like they were aiming that way but then at the last minute changed their minds and played it safe.
And even though the first design was close to this.
I wished they would have pushed the envelope even more to make him look even more brutish.

I'm tired of the Hulk looking like just a big Green Guy.
Instead of the Neantherthal Brute he is supposed to be.

You guys should check that link out...

Leterrier basically says that TIH wasn't the film that he and Norton had wanted from the beginning.
