Robots in Disguise, Transformers the RPG - Season I

That was such an odd choice. Of all the possible Autobots, they make Prowl a ninja.

EDIT: I mean, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker know "jet judo." :oldrazz:
Yeah, it was odd, but they made it work. He might not have been consistent with most other versions of Prowl, but they made it a really fun character, especially towards the end of the series.

Jazz, however, I can see where they had some precedent in making him a ninja.

Yeah, Jazz would've been a good choice. I like what I've seen of it - it just struck me as...odd.

Torn between Dead End and Soundwave....Soundwave cuz he's a badass and Dead End because I find him hilarious...

EDIT: This would make my decision easier: Did anyone else want Soundwave? If so, I'll yield to you, if not, then I'll have a Soundwave app up sometime tonight.

I want to put up an app for the Animated version of Longarm (and everything that the character brings to the table :cwink:), but there's already a Longarm in Movie continuity. Trying to think of a way to work around that...

Well I was thinking of picking him up as a second character but honestly don't back out simply because someone else said they want him. If you want to play him throw down an app.

Honestly, he wasn't essential. If you go with the animated version, I won't mind.

yeah and he doesn't technically show up in the movies. He only showed up in the movie comics.

Cool like Coolio. Since it's alright with the GM, then I'll have an app up shortly.

I think I may be one of the few here who didn't watch the new Animated show. Had no idea Prowl was a ninja in that lol.

Character you would like to play and the faction they belong to:
Longarm, a completely trustworthy member of the Autobots. Yup.
Don't spoil the surprise!

Alternate mode:
A crane platform.

Brief Explanation of character's history (One good paragraph):
Everyone likes Longarm. He's such a friendly guy. In fact, Longarm's sunny demeanor has made him good friends with many of the Autobots on Earth ever since the first day he answered Optimus Prime's signal and came to the planet and met them all. He trained with Blaster long ago, and has advanced to the rank of Chief Communications Officer for the Autobot detachment on Earth. All Autobot communications go through him, either directly or indirectly, and he is even happy to go above and beyond the call of duty to help out his allies in any way he can. Good old Longarm.

How many times do you plan on posting per week?:
As many as the situation calls for.

Do you know how to post pictures on Hype?

Please write a small sample post. (Must have two lines of dialogue and be 4 sentences minimum):

"Bumblebee, Optimus has issued a warning for all of us to stay on Earth for the foreseeable future." Longarm tried to keep the stress out of his voice in front of the yellow bot.

"I got to fly! Oh-oh-oh! I'm in a hurry! I'm late, I'm late! I've got to keep my cool!"

With a sigh, Longarm turned from the computer screen to look his friend in the eye. "I don't like it any more than you do, trust me, but if Optimus gave the order, then it must have been for the best." He could see Bumblebee's shoulders dropping in disappointed, but Longarm could tell that his colleague begrudgingly agreed.

"I'll tell you what, 'Bee," he started. "As soon as my shift is over, I'll meet you guys at the canyon and we'll have some energon. I hear Wheeljack finally managed to get that broken converter fixed, so we can have a decent recharge instead of always having to settle for that artificial stuff."

The walking Camaro instantly perked up. "I'm so excited! And I just can't hide it!"

"Hahaha!" Longarm slapped his friend on the back. All of these Earth broadcasts were so strange and funny. "While we're there, I'll try talking to Prime to see if we can get spacebridge travel up and running again. It'll make like easier for everyone."

Approved.

IC thread is going up tomorrow.

Thinking about my opening Optimus post...man I'm excited for this. The RPG hasn't started and already there are multiple interesting character stories ready to go. :D

hells yeah. Been a while since I've been this excited for an rpg.

I think this is gonna rock. Seriously waiting for a good Starscream-Air Raid fight scene.

It has more to do with the fact that I'm an indecisive wreck.

But what the hell, I'll get to work on an app.

Well that makes me feel a little better but then the only new cartoon I watch is the new Batman cartoon all the time even though almost everyone hates it. It just reminds me so much of the show from the 60's and I grew up watching that on Nick at Nite so it's very much a guilty pleasure lol.

Yeah, Animated's not everyone's cup of tea. It takes until season 2 before Sari's (the little girl) annoyance level goes down low enough that I stopped hating her, and the animation style's not for everyone (although it certainly helps ease you into a false sense of security before characters start being killed).

Still, if you persevere through that, the robot characters and plotlines make up for it. Getting to see a version of Megatron who is more like the strong military genius that he is in the comics (rather than the "BWAHAHAHA!!" crazy-eyes version that was in the old toon, or the gorilla from the live action movies), and being able to witness Optimus develop for the first time into the hero we all know he's destined to become (by the end of season 3, Optimus has definitely reached that level of badassery).

But yeah, they tried new things with the series; some of them were hit and miss, but if you stick with it and watch it as a whole, I found that it's pretty darn enjoyable. Seeing Animated Optimus Prime wield Thor's Ultra Magnus' hammer against Megatron was right up there with the best TF fights, like Primal vs. Optimal Megs at the end of Beast Machines, or Original Prime vs. Original Megs in the '86 movie.

Cool I'll probably give it a shot may or may not like it but will never know if I don't watch it atleast once.

Fo realz.

Be careful what you wish for. I like my Starscream more ravenous than impulsive. ;)

It's funny, I must be watching the season II or late season I episodes cause when I tried the show in the begining I couldn't get into it, but within the last few months I've been really loving the episodes I've seen.

What should the time gap between ROTF's end and the RPG's start be? 2 months?
