Well we all expected them do something to deal with the negative response to the game.
That ingame wise they do something, i didnt saw coming.
Who knows, maybe the leak from a year or so ago will come through in the end and leaves the universe on that note.
I expected them at least to give a official statement saying the game isnt the original arkham universe. Bringing Flash back and pretty much going "Those evil version were just clones" isnt what i expected.
The question is, what happens to Wonder Woman? Was that a clone too or so?
Or will the final season end with Flash running back in time?
If they revealed this in the actual game when it was released, there would've been less of a backlash. The game still would've been trash, but the backlash would've been lowered. Designing it as a seasonal piece of garbage live service scam ruined any chance this game had to be a success.
I think its more that he simply got too confident in everything.
How Arkham Knights reception hasnt humbled him however, i dont know.
They fumbled Knight a bit for many especially on story and batmobile...two things that have been said to have a lot of involvement from Sefton Hill.

The Backlash would have been a different one because if you kind of market the game on the idea of Killing the Justice league and then you reveal right away that you dont...that would have been bad too.
I think the game was doomed when they decided on the premise.
When they decided to have the justice league brainwashed and the suicide squad having to kill them...i think that was already a lost cause.

No one wants to genuinely Kill the Justice League. That's the problem. Even in Mortal Kombat vs. DC, they took out the MA fatalities. In Injustice, they set up an AU universe, so it's not ACTUALLY Superman who goes nuts and crazy. And the prime universe heroes go to stop Superman's regime.
I doubt people would've been that upset when they realized they didn't genuinely kill the Justice League and they were clones or evil doubles.

Sure, but it would still have made the whole premise pointless and that is something people also dont like.
There was really no way to win on that.
People would have complained either way, because then it would have been "Why do they sell it as if we can kill the justice league when we cant"?
Its one of those "damned if you do and damned if you dont" situations.
But you could have made it work better if the storytelling wouldnt have been so clunky and the game wouldnt have been a loot shooter live service game.

I mean isn't it already rendered pointless by this recent reveal that we've technically known about from leaks for a while?
I'm not sure I agree because many of the arguments defending the game were like, "Well, they marketed it as Kill the Justice League, so we really do have to do it!"
In the multiverse, after Arkham Knight (2015), they released a game for Superman (2018), Wonder Woman (2021), Aquaman (2024), The Flash (2027) and Justice League (2030).
Saw a few people on Twitter celebrate this, and im disgusted.
Unless its CEOs who are fired, you dont celebrate any lay offs.
These people worked hard to make the best with what they got...and are now fired because as usual, CEOs made bad decisions.
They fire people from the Quality assurance Team, the ones that are the least to blame since the games quality in itself is fantastic.
The only ones who should have been layed off after the flop, should have been the CEOs...the ones who saw this game and thought it would make them Billions.
Its such a damn shame and i hope those layed off, find new work.
