High praise from critics. But the rotten reviews are ridiculous.

"Just because a comic book flick takes the dirt road less traveled doesn't mean it's a cinematic work of art."

why are these people wasting their time if they already know they aren't gonna like the movie?

usmagazine gave Logan a 2.5/4 and a rotten rating, even though that's 62.5% which by rotten tomatoes standards is considered fresh. What the hell?

That type of scoring (a 2.5 being either rotten or fresh at the choice of the reviewer) happens all the time and it always perplexes and pisses off the fans. It's just a constant of the universe and it will not change anytime soon.

It's their criteria.
Sometimes, it sucks but what can we do.
Anyway, it's around 100 reviews and the score is still 94% which is great !!!
More than I've imagined !!!
So, It's awesome beyond handling !!!

Civil War, Doctor Strange, Logan. It's nice to get these ≥ 90% superhero films. :)

Some of these rotten reviews man. Unbelievable.
I know some of you are probably saying ''everyone has an opinion bla bla'' but these are supposed to be pros about their jobs reviewing a film. They have to have standards and no bias whatsoever. Saying a film is bad with many objective points I can respect and that should be the norm.I honestly think reviewers who go into a movie with the intention to deliberately hate on it should be fired from their jobs. Simple as that. Nothing to do with Logan btw just in general. A reviewers job is to be impartial, no bias and just has to present an objective article on why the medium is good or bad. When you read a bad review or a good review you have to go ...oh yeah I didn't think about that good points, well constructed, and has to give you a better sense of the meaning behind it''. Instead she blasts the genre because it's not art ? Art is subjective anyway and not tied to a constant so F her pretentious attitude. Reviewing is a lost art if you ask me. What she did, you and me can do too. If you and me, who have no clue about the profession, can do her job as well then that says a lot about the profession itself.

It doesn't even read as a review. Just an excuse to hate on the genre.
God forbid she has kids. Pretentious .....

/rant. Sorry it's a long time coming. Just a general thing that's been bugging me for a long while.
This is why it's impossible to say a 96% film is better than a 94% film or 8.4 film better than an 8.1 film. All it takes is 1 unprofessional person to knock that down a point or couple points. Taking it in broad terms is the best. 90% and anything above 7 is what I take from RT in broad terms. The rest just depends on the person or persons mood reviewing it. From the 100 people usually most of them do a good job reviewing films but you'll have that 5% or sometimes 10% a couple people who will just go against it for many reasons which none film related). And sometimes that percentage will just go along for films that weren't even as good and you'd think it's better but it's not always the case. Which is why I only look in broad terms. If it's close to 90 and at least 7 rating I will most definately enjoy it.

at 93% fresh logan Is till among the top 3 films ever made from marvel characters.Iron man is 1 and then it's logan and Spider-man 2.

Yeah, not too worried about the people who say they dislike the film for things such as its violence or find it absolutely bleak, as opposed to say somber, melancholy yet hopeful like most reviewers are praising it for. It's personal taste.

Mangold and Hugh have made a critically acclaimed, serious, dramatic and violent R-rated superhero film. As Mike Ryan of Uproxx said, that's basically the holy grail. It'd be nice for the film to tick up a few notches on RT, but it's just small potatoes at this point. (Plus there's a few more rave reviews to come no doubt)

So if 95 of the next 100 are positive it's back up to 94. 93 of the first 100 are positive. I think it will settle at 94 honestly.

Average rating back up to 8.1. I think this will definitely have an 8+ average rating when all the reviews are in.

Edit: Back to 94%.

I think this will finish in the 91-93 range. Just hope it maintains that 8+ average rating.

There's still about 160-ish reviews left to account for so it can go either way. Hopefully it clicks up a few notches, or maybe they'll get into 300+ like CW.

I'm guessing none of us will live to see a comic book movie that surpasses The Dark Knight in critical acclaim. :P

The Dark Knight was one of those rare lighting in a bottle movies.

This is the only film that's come close however. It's small potatoes to debate small gaps on the tomatometer, and there's a lot of pride in just being able to compare this film to TDK. Hopefully this gets some awards traction though.

Not the only. There's also splendidly-written Spider-Man 2.
